Every other kind of animal has to find its own food and make its own living; why do you think humans should be different? Rabbits don't kill themselves because nobody will give them a lifelong supply of alfalfa for nothing. Why should you?

The point of the movie isn't the glorification of slavery. It's a sweeping historical epic that depicts the effects of war on the women at home. If you can't stand movies that show eras of history that included slavery, then you can't watch anything about ancient Rome, classical Greece, or the Bible.

I have that problem too. I'm just so worried that someone from my family might join WP and start to figure out that Joe90 is their own family. Why would anyone else in your family join Wrongplanet? Her brother got diagnosed not long ago, and she's complained about him over the years. I remember the...

She called you picky because she offered to help you and you shot down her suggestion. She probably felt irritable about it. You will find people on this very forum being angry at those who ask for help then refuse all advice. It's not about you being too picky, but too negative.

Although I often despair of how stupid and conformist the average human is, I don't know if what you're referencing is evidence of that. It only stands to reason that people click "Like" on stuff they are already familiar with, and don't respond to stuff they don't recognize. I'm guessing ...

I think all the old introvert stuff is still there available for you to do, there are just more options for extroverts in the digital world now. There's nothing stopping you from playing single player games that are not networked. More people I know in IT actually work from home instead of going to ...

The thing that worked for me was a friend telling me "It's none of your business what others think of you." That really blew my mind, because it's true. You can't really know for sure, it's not your information to access. Now I just mind my OWN business.

That's a really small niche, I can't think of any female vloggers who are what you call "analytical" (I'm guessing you mean people in the alt-light, like the ones who write for Quillette, who don't engage in a lot of SJW emotion-speak) who vlog about modern relationship dynamics. There are...

I wouldn't worry too much about people getting bad advice here, because as far as I can tell nobody ever takes the advice offered. :)

If giving up will have zero effect on your day to day life activities, but it would mean you stopped thinking and obsessing about this topic that gives you such pain, then yes you should absolutely give up.

Nobody is talking about bipolar. This thread is referencing Borderline Personality Disorder. At least 1/3 of the commenters here don't seem to get that, even though someone commented about it earlier.

In what way would your daily life be materially different if you "gave up"? Would you stop swiping on dating sites? I don't get the impression that you expend any amount of time or personal action on activities meant to procure a girlfriend. It seems like life would be exactly the same.

You write very long and verbose posts here. Do you do the same in those other forums? It may be as simple as "Too Long; Didn't Read". People may not read your contributions at all because it makes their eyes glaze over. (I read your posts because we have shared preoccupations, but if we di...
