It has nothing to do with space rather C is more correctly defined as "the speed of massless particles in a vacuum". Which are forced to travel at this velocity as a result of not having any mass.

What interests me regarding contrails is when are they contrails and when are they pollution. When you look out of a airplane window at other planes the black smoke from the engines trails back for miles, yet on the ground all you see are what appears to be white contrail?

If the populace backs a particular ideology by fundamentally democratic means then surely that is the antithesis of totalitarianism. Perhaps I am guilty of "no true Scotsman" but to my mind a regime that is totalitarian in nature cannot be socialist, sure they may call themselves socialist...
