I'm learning to drive and I thought that it would be really hard because it involves lots of things that I find difficult. But I have actually picked it up pretty quickly. My only problem seems to be losing my concentration randomly while driving but this doesn't happen so much if I make lots of sto...

While I could have gotten noticed earlier as being AS, I was too busy abusing the rules for my own amusement, driven by a perverse curiousity to see how far they stretched. Never give a bored aspie kid a copy of the bill of rights, and tell him he has detention after school. 'That is unlawful impri...

* Did you receive a gifted label as well as an AS/HFA/ADHD/etc. label? I have received a label for gifted, HFA and ADHD * If so, which did you receive first? Gifted but I didn't know about it for a long time and neither did my parents. I wish the school told me because I spent a long time thinking ...

I take Ritalin and my ability to draw and paint stays the same and my pictures usually come out better because I concentrate more. I also manage to finish them which I find hard to do when I'm off the ritalin. I don't think if anyone does lose their creativity or gifts when they are on something lik...

I think Simon Baron Cohen has a profoundly autistic brother or cousin or something. I know his name is Timothy but I can't remember how he is related.

Well, what about parts? It's when somebody shows you their new thing and you MUST see what is inside. When you must touch everything, pull to pieces and excite it. When you stare at the chair and you enjoy the screws, wood pattern and look for the imprecision of enamel. And how pretty angle is betw...

I'm always misinterpreting jokes and thinking that the person is being serious and I seem to never pick up on the cues that mean they are joking. Luckily my friends and family know this so they tell me that they are joking straight away if they see that I'm taking it seriously.

The brain fog can really complicate my life at times. The worst is when it hits me really hard at work. I hav...

I don't get a click but sometimes when I am overloaded with noise and there's too much stuff going on any sound can make my ears hurt. I can't really explain how they feel but I suppose it's kind of like the fuzz when the tv isn't tuned onto a channel but in my ears and it's quite painful. It often ...
