I have note for note recall of songs I enjoy (I like to think of this as my built-in ipod). Notice details no one else does. Remember completely useless bits of trivia while forgetting important things, like people's names or birthdays. Good at fixing things, esp. plumbing. Really good at pissing pe...

Sometimes its hard to tell if there is a double meaning implied or not. There have been plenty of times when I will feel compelled to ask "What do you mean by that?" Not because I'm dense but because I don't want to give an inappropiate response.

Oh YEAH. Some days I just can't deal with conversing much at all, esp. with overly outgoing types. When I was younger I would sometimes "clam up", much to my parent's and guidance councilor's and shrink's annoyance. Not so much about losing myself as just not feeling like there was anything worth ta...

Evil no, different yes. But I suppose all it takes is being different to some to qualify as "evil" (or at the very least, undesirable). I took a lot of crap over the years for simply not seeing things the way others did, for not getting caught up in fads or gossip or whatever the latest trivial inan...

Yes, definetly. Esp. when I was younger, I had a step-parent who tried to "change" me. Needless to say it didn't work. I took a lot of crap over the years for not having an outgoing personality, but that's just how I am. If someone is persistent about me being myself I just tell them that I look at ...

You sound a lot like I did about ten years ago. Something about the workplace that just recapitulates highschool/middleschool...I can't say that I've accepted things as they are, I haven't. But I have found some people, here and there, who are accepting of me, and who are genuinely nice. Of course t...

When I was a kid I had a handful of friends, not many. That's been true my whole life. I did go thru a horrible time in my 20s where I was very depressed, self medicating (whole other thread topic) and being about as anti-social as one can be (not speaking to anyone for days at a time, avoiding all ...

I've had this one my whole life, people never believe me when I tell them my age. When I was a freshman in college I was getting carded for going to rated R movies! In my late 30s but could pass for mid 20s. My mum's side of the family always looked young for their age though, so I guess its genetic.

Bleah. Used to get this a lot back in middle school and high school, seems to be something the alpha male jock types enjoy doing to those who are different in any way, going after a guy's masculinity. But even some relatives on occassion would wonder, esp. since I wasn't dating. I guess that doesn't...

I've gotten both comments about having the intense look and the stoned/vacant look, seems to be largely unconscious on my part, guess it depends what I'm thinking about. Also have inadvertently stared at people without meaning to, and then can't look people in the eye while talking (although I'm tra...

Exactly, I've felt like that more times than I can remember. But at least at my current job people there are a lot nicer than at some past jobs I've had. And yet, I'm still odd man out. With strangers though, its way worse for me. Sometimes if I feel really self-conscious I just can't go to parties,...

Yes. Absolutley, esp. at work. People tend to be "cliquish" at my job and while I pretty much get along with my co-workers, when its not one on one its so damn hard for me. The awkward silences/pauses, not knowing what to say next and keep the ball rolling, feeling distracted or dissociating. That k...

I had a really hard time with math all thru school until 10th grade. That's when we studied geometry and I just had some sort of natural affinity for it, I found it very easy and it made total sense to me. The weird thing was that here I was, someone who had previously had struggled with algebra (ge...

Haven't done anything to prepare per se. I dunno, I could go either way on this one. I think like the economy, it largely depends on where you live, some places will do better than others. But I also like to think that when the s**t hits the fan, it often brings out the best in people instead of the...
