when you go out to a movie but you don't enjoy it because the whole time you,re thinking about how much better you'd be able to see the movie if you were 3 seats over because then you'd be in dead center but now your off to one side a little bit and you keep on looking at the people in the dead cen... |

I just watched Mozart and the Whale and it was TERRIBLE! I absolutely hated the portrayal of Aspergers I mean Donald and Isabels portrayal was good if not a little bit more severe than usual but that support group!? Those people DID NOT have Aspergers! They were SEVERELY AUTISTIC! That LIE stating ... |

I've been trying/needing to learn a foreign language for YEARS for college. It's made me not able to graduate so many times. Do Aspies have a harder time learning a language? Part of it is just practical... I hadn't studied the language in a few years, then tried to pick it back up. I still find fo... |

This is how I completely feel except in my heart I've kind of accepted I'll probably never meet a life companion and I'm gradually trying to think and do what I truly want to do with my life. I received a great feeling of liberation from this but when the sexual impulses come I feel really bad and ... |

I have seen so many threads with this kind of title on WP and since you only joined WP in Feb and this is your 8th post, I wondered if perhaps you are a troll?
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and suggest you read some quality Asperger's reference books to answer this question. |

I have mixed thoughts and feelings about meeting up. I don't live in the UK but if a meeting was arranged near where I live I am not even sure I would attend that! I enjoy the annonymity of WP and the fact that I can choose my level of engagement and am free not to respond to direct questions and to... |

I was in London in 1996 and went to see a doctor (GP). I had been reading about ADHD (ADD as it was called then) She hadn't heard of ADD. When I mentioned that 15% + of children (at the time) had ADD, she stopped writing, put down her pen, crossed her arms an told me that this was 'normal'. The body... |

In answer to the actual thread question..... In social situations, I am instinctively in collecting and exchanging information mode. It is analytical and formal. I am now aware of this and very occasionally can dumb it down to social situations. This generally involves following instead of leading w... |

I didn't/couldn't read the opening post so I am responding to the thread question. My Clinical Psychologist has mentioned that AS can/does get 'worse' with age. I can confirm this in my case. I started on Lexapro 5 months ago and Straterra 2 months ago as I was finding it harder to cope. I have pres... |

My former therapist gave me a copy at this book at the end of our last session together. She was in tears when I left. I really enjoyed this book and it was very easy to recognise myself in the character of The Little Prince. I think I will re read it this weekend. Thank you for reminding me. |
