This poll sucks, because I've no idea what standard deviation is considered. IQ of 130 SD 15 means something different than IQ 130 SD 24. The first one is Mensa level (percentile about 2%), the second is slighty above average. The poll about percentiles would be much better and more accurate. In su...

That's a funny way of saying it: Getting in touch with neurotypicals. :) For me it has always been more about avoiding them. I mean, I don't have to contact them, they're everywhere. Weren't we all born right into their midst? This forum and the high IQ fora I attend are the only places I do not mee...

i can't smile....this is all i got! If this picture is you, then you can smile! Smiling need not be wide and toothy. There are countless kinds of smiles and ways and types of smiling. This smile seems to be a friendly, slightly tongue-in-cheek, kind of smile. One that we have among friends or famil...

You guys don't look aspie-like at all. At least not the way I have come to think of aspie-smiles. :)

Thank you, Melpomene.

Yes, I wish I could do something more to make things better.

I wondered if you have Asperger's Syndrome, or if you know someone who do?

I've read somewhere that it is more than have of people with Aspergers (although I don't know how accurate that statistic is). I am also not sure about people with Autism. I have classic autism and I do not have ADHD. ADD as a diagnostic term no longer exists. It is now ADHD and one can have ADHD-I...

I sometimes think it would be nice to be ill in hospital, just because "patient" is such a well defined role & everyone else tends to do everything for you rather than expecting you to be able to do things. There are set visiting hours and if you don't feel like talking to people you can just c...

anyway clothing hides the effects of gravity... so i guess i have some youthful camouflage. plus i dye my hair. hey, why not use camouflage? I often feel like a chameleon......trying to dress appropriately for each visitor and each social situation so as to "blend in" You said it! I used to h...

I found that I could compensate by behaving a tad more mature than I had to be for my age. It got me more admiration than a youthful look alone did. Being able to relate to people of all ages is what makes in kind of difficult sometimes. Difficult? How do you mean? I somehow always had an easy time...

I don't get embarrassed. I like looking younger than I am because when I was in my teens people thought I looked older than my actual age. Quite puzzling, isn't it? My story is the same. I rarely tell people that I looked older than my age during my teens because it seems to be a contradiction to t...

I do not space out as far as I am aware. Of the people I met in person, all of them do it in different degrees whether they're normal or not, autistic or have AD(H)D. You're about the first person I read about who also says that she doesn't space out. I've been told I've spaced out, but it didn't t...

You know I too was confused when I learned that one of the main traits of Aspergers is that we supposedly lack empathy. I've always thought of myself as emotional, I do feel sad, angry, fear, and joy. However I notice that when it comes to me I am not always good at expressing these emotions, or ev...

I have been wondering why i was diagnosed with aspergers and schizophrenia. I have most of the symptoms on the early signs page of schizophrenia dotcom but no hallucinations or delusions. Now i know... However, it states from 15 to 26 years old and i have always been like this.... What you describe...

sounds like anxiety to me. No, it's more than "just" anxiety. I have had problems with anxiety in my childhood and youth, but I never had fears like the ones these guys describe. In fact I'll say I was the opposite: I envisioned such 'catastro- phies' with excitement, I wanted such things to happen...
