I like cats, just not in my house. They are perhaps the most natural youtube subjects in the world.

I'm not convinced toxoplasmosis doesn't play a role in "crazy" cat people, it's been shown to affect human behavior in subtle ways, and what it does to rats is just nuts.

I feel a bit scammed by the family, I notice the idea that they gave out his account to others didn't come up in the first story. The kid didn't earn all those achievements, how many did he get my loaning out his account that didn't show up as a cheat? He might be great, start a new account and do i...

You're making an untrue generalisation based on limited knowledge. Not all NTs are like this. In fact, I've only ever encountered a few who are, and the same can be said for people with autism. Its called life experience, has nothing to do with knowledge. When you get older, and have a few more yea...

Movie fps are around 24, Most games I've played need to have at least that, and more like 30-40fps so it's smooth enough to not noticeable. Your brain can only take in so many fps, with adrenaline you step up the info coming in, like a higher fps. This makes things seem to last longer as you get mor...

I am sorry if I offended you by suggesting that people diagnosed with PDD are of a lower intellectual or cognitive ability. Perhaps we need a new term. I am not suggesting that your daughter is not intelligent or cognitive ability because she. I wasn't offended at all, I was just talking about my o...

At first I thought I had no problems with phone calls, but that's only to about 5-7 people in my life I enjoyed calling over my life. If I have to call for something, like a playdate for my daughter I get pretty nervous. I do feel pretty proud afterward of doing something so social, though I'm sure ...

I'm like the Sith with friends, I've only really had one at a time in my life, but we are often great friends. I don't do nearly as well in groups, I need lots of one on one time to develop communications, if four friends get together I'm just swamped with too much activity.

I'm more a fan of ASD taking all of them in. At this point, it seems a diagnosis is so subjective depending on where you go you might get a number of different disorders. My daughter was given a diagnosis of PDD-NOS, I don't know how more vague and unhelpful that could be. They acted very tentative ...

Okay, it does make more sense now. But I still think no matter which end you start with--top or bottom--you haven't gotten a clear view until you've gone back and forth between the macro and the micro. Otherwise, you risk either missing the big picture or erroneously calling something a forest when...

First rule, don't try. Greeting dogs like they were people is pretty silly, don't bother talking to a dog, when you first meet one you should act like it isn't there unless it's doing something you don't like. If you are relaxed it should be at ease with you pretty quickly. If you are tense, have je...

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Anyone else find NT's predictable?

In some ways you could say so, but not as predictable as those with an ASD. People will react in an overall average way, even more true in an individual you know better. AS individuals don't always react in the average way, but individually I'm going to guess it's even more strict on how they react ...

I like the term NT, but only for its original intent. It was coined to mean anyone without an ASD. But it appears that its meaning has evolved to more than just that. Personally, I think the corruption of the term's original meaning is a NT plot to subvert the expression of our obviously superior i...

I don't like the term because it's not accurate, I don't know anyone who doesn't have some issue. If a word is not accurate, I'd like it to be funny, and it's not that either. I've known AS individuals who are about the rudest people I've met, does a diagnosis give them a pass over an "NT" with some...

I try to have as much empathy as I can with others, I've found people always have troubles I didn't know about. You never know what kind of personal battles people are waging, I know people who seem very happy with others socially, but privately are miserable. It's easy to think of them like you wou...

Just off the top of my head I'd go with crazy cult leader, due to location and secrecy, the populations is largely inbreed and stunted. The obsessive goal of Christmas is really what keeps the group going, that and fear of government regulation.
