I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or advice on how to become a Kavorka Man. This is an obscure Seinfeld reference turned trope on TV Tropes and is defined as "this character has a long list of conquests and can bend any woman to his will — even though there's absolutely nothing attrac...

sometimes, someone uses "interesting" in a judgmental, condescending way. like they are trying hard to avoid saying something negative. but they can't phrase it in a positive way. so they say something that sounds like it's positive, but connotation versus denotation. I've actually lashed...

My interests primarily include classic and alternative rock music, movies, comedy, cartoons, reading, writing, and video games. And that's it. Pretty normal stuff in my opinion but that doesn't stop people from thinking I have "esoteric" interests whenever I talk about them.

If anyone thinks I'm boring in any way, it's just because of my monotone voice which people have compared to that of Ben Stein and Steven Wright, or that I tend to talk about cartoons and other things they aren't interested in. Otherwise, it's much more likely they'll call me a weirdo than boring.

I have been working in customer service for the past two weeks at a greater capacity than I have ever worked with customers in my life (I had two previous retail jobs but they mostly involved stocking and recovery) and was wondering for AS people who work in customer service, how do you deal with be...

I can't think of any artists I listen to who are any more "unusual" than Captain Beefheart, who a lot of people listen to regardless of neurotype so I'm not special.

I'm not saying that echolalia doesn't have its uses, but this particular incident happened at a class that was trying to encourage real communication. I think, to a certain point, that this is autism at its truest. It is hard for us to"get into the moment" and reveal ourselves. This is pr...

That sounds more like echolochia (however the heck it's spelled).

"Scripting" is just a more informal synonym for "echolalia." I still like it a lot more as a synonym than "parroting" though.

If you can focus on self employment. Try selling things on ebay or such, even if it's just a small part time business such as soap making. Also try and get part time work. This can help you last longer in the job, and allow time for you to increase your self employment. Also helps with boredom/burn...

Because for instance, I'd be talking about SpongeBob and quote a line like "Can we say that PLANTS from Texas are dumb? Can we say that SHOES from Texas are dumb?" And then for weeks on end, someone else would keep repeating "Can we say that PLANTS from Texas are dumb? Can we say that...

I was in a group for autistic adults and the leader got bothered by me because I kept talking about cartoons, movies, and other popular culture with quotes in them that other members started quoting from and scripting as a result. He said that by talking about cartoons all day, I was encouraging scr...
