CBT works excellently for Aspies. As long as you have a therapist who understands AS, you'll make great progress. Now, if you do not feel comfortable with your therapist, I advise you to get another one. And make certain that it is someone who has dealt with adult autism. Good luck! I find CBT to b...

I'm supposed to be going for CBT, but I'm really uncertain about it... I'm going for CBT because of general anxiety, this anxiety has come along with worsening autism symptoms as a result of long-term unemployment - I honestly believe that the only thing that will help me get back to normal is to be...

Studying religion is great, it opens your mind to new ideas... ...however don't expect to make it into a career. I studied religion at your age, then I went on to take religious studies and philosophy in college, I wanted to go to get my doctrine but it wouldn't have gotten me a job so as much as I ...

I get into arguments and can't let it go, even if I can avoid continuing an argument I still can't help but want to know what else is said, I get so wound-up it sends my anxiety sky-high and I can't calm myself down. I get so wound-up at other people's stupidity and ignorance, that you can state a f...

Here's the deal, I'm a committee member for a local group and amongst various things we do we run social groups once per month (currently attempting to do something fortnightly)...the problem is getting people to come! We're a good-sized city and I know for a fact that we have hundreds of autistic p...

No, it's not possible. Firstly the hymen isn't 'lost' or 'broken' - it can tear, but only as a result of vaginal penetration (even then, unless penetration is forced or rough the hymen can normally let smaller items through without tearing, or can stretch to accommodate larger items). The idea that ...

I've had ongoing issues with council not collecting my recycling, and giving all sorts of BS excuses when I complain...sending letters to us claiming we're leaving bins out when we're not...confiscating our bins...giving us fewer bins back...ignoring emails, etc. My recycling hasn't been collected A...

Yet another person emailing me about my 'special interest', this time praise and looking for information from me that I didn't have (a tricky subject to find any information on). I'm contemplating blocking this person so they can't email me again...just because I can't cope with it...

Cramps. I don't normally get menstrual cramps at all, but this period is far heavier than normal and painful...just got back from nipping to the store and I'm in so much pain I feel sick.

My anxiety is especially high today. 1. I had messages in my inbox today from people praising my knowledge of my 'special interest', this happens a lot with people praising me, wanting to network or wanting my input on something. I can't stand it - I react to praise as with criticism - I can't reply...

Everyone thinks this - but why the hell do people go on Embarrassing Bodies?! So you've had a rotting anus, stink of fish, excessive vaginal discharge, pee yourself all day, etc...it never occurred to you to go to a doctor in all this time, but you're all for going on a national TV show on prime-tim...
