Just had a nasty flashback which is stopping me going to sleep, so I thought I'd pop into WP after many years away to say hi :) .

I seem to let my fears get in the way too. Well, some fears are more tolerable than others, like I fear crowds and horrible screaming toddlers, but I can still work in a supermarket stacking shelves (that is, if there isn't some other barrier that gets in the way of a simple job like that). But I c...

*HUG* I've been there too, love. Took me 11 years to find my current job. The government says they're non-discriminatory towards the disabled, but I wonder if it isn't being taken to a more subtle level by private firms - yes, you've disclosed you're disabled, and we'll give you an interview... but ...

It sounds like you have a manager who isn't particularly good at dealing with conflict. Hopefully, your HR department will be able to straighten this out. In my mind, the issue of swearing or not swearing is not entirely relevant. You had a meltdown, and made a scene - when that happens, disciplina...

You say that your sister is an employment solicitor. As you're not a union member, and even if you were, I recommend that you get your sister formally involved as soon as possible. It might be worth your while joining the union, but they won't usually assist at interviews etc until you've been a me...

I'm in a bit of trouble. Unfortunately, this is going to be a bit long, but I'll try and keep it as short as possible, ok? :) My history: Bullied at primary school, secondary school, 6th form college and university. Had 2 stalkers, one in real life for 9 months, one online for 3. Extremely difficult...

Paulie C's got down to an art :D. In my life I know a lot of social workers and a journalist, and watching them has been a great lesson, especially since I ask questions about how they interact the way that they do. The journalist always asks questions, leans forward when he's interested and makes e...

Yes, I don't think my NTs are factoring the Aspieness into all of this  . Mum took me round a wedding fayre at the weekend and I almost ran from the room because all these strangers kept talking to me! By the time we got all the way round, I think most of the stallholders thought I was do...

OOM - I'd ceryainly be happy to ask either of his sisters to do it! I'd rather have one of my friends do it, but I'm not sure he'll have the time - too busy taking over the world! The current suggestion is to hold a small civil ceremony for the family of both and then to have a large LRP gathering o...

With you and your mum being confused, I think that's as real an emotion as anything else. I think even quote-unquote 'normal' people (and no such thing as 'normal' anyway! :D ) find weddings more stressful than enjoyable, much less us talented people on the spectrum! Seems like it would be hard for...

First of all, welcome to Wrong Planet! Second, congradulations on your wedding! It's quite rare for a person with Asperger's to get married, but it does happen. :D I've been never been married myself, but I think you should ignore people's stupid comments and enjoy your day! Sounds like you've wait...
