I've never heard that, but then again, it's been nearly 20 years since I graduated high school.

I worked part time, but was laid off last summer because business was too slow. It was finally made official after a couple of months of not being scheduled, and they only told me I was laid off so I would quit calling every week. I even removed that number from my cellphone so I don't accidentally ...

I did go to preschool and kindergarten at a school for students with severe disabilities, but went to regular schools from elementary school onward because it was obvious that I didn't belong in such a segregated environment. I was in regular classes, but got pulled out for speech therapy, and that ...

For me, I would say the social issues as the thing that led me to get diagnosed was being kicked out of an internship program because I focused too much on what I was doing to engage in small talk with others. It's also made it extremely difficult to get jobs in general because while I look great on...

On my iPod, I prefer to shuffle all especially when I'm working out at the gym, or on a drive that would last longer than a single CD would, and I don't feel like listening to the radio. When I listen to a CD, I listen to the entire thing once, then switch to another CD.

For me, it was that I'm female, and we don't always show the same traits males do, plus autism wasn't seen as being a spectrum until the mid to late 90's. The only diagnosis available then was autism, and I was too high functioning for that, so it wasn't until I was 28 that I finally got the Asperge...

Hell no, as the earlier years were when I was bullied, and if Asperger's had been known about then, the bullies would have had a field day with it. The bullying only stopped when my family moved and I was able to go to different middle and high schools from where the bullies were.

One thing is that I wasn't diagnosed with AS until I was 28. what is a typical first date like? I mostly dated people who were friends first. I've also been married briefly, but my ex was abusive. -- do you tell NT guys about ASD right away or later? Or never? As I was diagnosed later, I didn't know...

I agree with the others that the police need to be called, since if there was sexual abuse, it's a good chance that this person will do it again until they're finally caught.

I was relieved as I finally had an explanation for the way I've been my whole life. I mentioned before that when I told a therapist who saw me as a child and teenager, she said that I probably had it, and that if they had known about Asperger's when I was growing up, I would have been diagnosed earl...

ABC and CBS both showed bits about the anniversary of the Columbia disaster. For me, I was told about it as it was on a weekend when I tend to sleep in, as it was relatively early in the morning.

Even then, nobody including Fox mentioned the Apollo 1 disaster.

I definitely agree about tags, and I think the person that came up with tagless clothing was a genius. I also can't wear real wool without something under it because it's too itchy. One thing I hate is wearing skirts without shorts underneath is that I hate having bare thighs.

I also agree that many in the mental and behavioral health fields believe it's cheaper to medicate someone than try other therapies that might actually be more effective, but can take a long time. I know that in my case when I had depression, the only time I was suicidal was when I was on a SSRI dru...
