Thankyou for answers so far! It's also been suggested to me it could be a fall in blood pressure - but wouldn't you expect becoming angry and upset to cause blood pressure to rise?

I enjoy and feel that I'm quite good at writing description, but I find dialogue extremely difficult.

An NT friend online who also writes has exactly the opposite problem. Perhaps we should collaborate. :)

i like the way americans call bags purses. what do you call actual purses? I think in the US, they call the money-holders used by both men and women 'wallets', while here (are you in the UK too?) 'wallet' refers more to the kind used by men, while a woman's is a 'purse'. Conventional womens' handba...

I can't drive. I tried to learn but failed the test three times. I did not have much of a problem operating the vehicle; it was reading the road I couldn't manage. I just wouldn't see things: other cars, one-way signs, etc.

A side effect of becoming extremely upset for me is also becoming freezing cold, to the point where I'm physically shivering and my teeth are chattering. It usually takes me an hour or so, wrapped up in a blanket, to recover from this and feel a normal temperature again. This is still what happens e...

I usually have to 'meet' someone at least half a dozen times before I begin to recognize them on sight, and I can still be thrown again if they radically change their appearance or I see them somewhere unexpected. Most people look very much the same to me. I have a particular problem with young wome...

I would say that social interactions, and their own place in society, are the most important things in the world to them. They define themselves by their relationships. There is a psychological test in which respondents are told to imagine that they're stranded on another planet, and asked whether t...

It's hard to say. In some ways, I feel much more mature, and it's hard for me to believe that some people have a job/are the parents or guardians of kids when they seem to behave like five year olds themselves. But in other ways, I feel as if I've been somehow left behind and am much younger. ... NT...

I find the ones at work painful. They don't seem to bother other people, who just comment, "Oh, that's a bit loud," to anywhere near the same degree. I have to cover my ears.

Just to throw another word out there: What is the difference between an aspie special interest and an addiction? My psychologist said that my special interests could also be classified as addictions because of what they are/were (poker, world of warcraft, other computer games). I often wonder if ou...

Yes, I cry because of sadness, because of happiness, and just because of anger or extreme frustration or stress.

I have different kinds of fixations/special interests. Like there's the 'one hit wonder' kind where I become fixated on something for a while, then lose interest and never have more than a passing interest in it again. And there's the 'rotating' kind where I always have some interest in it, but eve...

I dislike children, yet at the same time I would probably be a good parent because parts of me are still very childlike and understand where children are coming from, and because I would treat them like a person rather than coo over them as some brainless cute thing. One of the most popular teachers...

I have an extreme problem with the nylon fabric of standard women's stockings and tights. I can't bear to touch them, let alone wear them. If I even look too long at them on someone else, I start to get a slightly sick feeling.

I love socks and always look for ones with cute patterns. :D

Um, no, actually. Just thought about it. But then I am on the side that is supposed to get angry because of not getting flowers  Dear God, I do hate cut flowers. I love flowers... but it wouldn't make me angry not to get them. I never really understand why anyone (especially other women) put s...
