This is something I've always sensed, but I've never heard the idea so well expressed and explained. This very simple yet profound form of communication is one of the things I love most about animals, and why I've always formed strong connections to them-a sort of understanding that is hard to expla...

I think men and women should focus more on loving each other, than on exactly defining where each person's responsibility ends and the next person's begins. We should have an abundance of love for each other, not some exactly-dictated amount from which no one dares vary. I believe in elastic order....

That's an interesting take, and I'm glad you distinguish between the two-I wish more people would. This is an area where we need to be careful, as the lines can be blurred. Personally, I would not describe patriotism so much as an act of pride but rather an act of love and attachment to place (in th...

I get them from time to time as well, and they are sometimes triggered by small, crowded spaces. I find that it often helps to pay attention to the physical and mental changes that lead up to a panic attack, recognize them for what they are, and stop it from progressing any further, which I do in a ...

I used to watch that show a lot-I think I remember it being on after I got home from school. It was a great concept and a very good quality show-a lot of the kid's shows on PBS were (I loved Ghostwriter, Mark Kistler's Imagination Station, Reading Rainbow, etc.).

I do think that more than anything that I am really lucky to have this option; I hope my first post didn't sound too much like a complaint-I guess I am just very anxious. It may so happen that I no longer do, but I will always have that in the back of my mind and try to find ways to prepare for that...

Well, I hadn't been born yet myself (and my parents were quite young themselves) but I love the album (although I'd have to say that Abbey Road is my favourite...or maybe Revolver or Rubber Soul...oh, heck, I love them all!). Had I been around I probably would've been camped out in front of the reco...

Thanks to everyone for the responses, they were really helpful :) I would like to say more and respond to things people have said, but I'm a bit busy right now, so I will probably do that later.

I should start off by saying that I hope I am not committing a major forum faux pas by suddenly coming out of a long (and irregular) hibernation to start a new thread here asking for advice (and I apologize if I am), but there is a question I have been struggling with for a long time now and since I...

I feel lucky to be an American-there are far worse places to live (I actually live in Canada now, but I'm still a citizen of the U.S and I grew up there); I'm proud of being part of the oldest and longest running modern democracy. America has done (and continues to do) some terrible things, but othe...

American Pie. Now there's two hours of my life I'm never going to get back, and I'll never understand why Roger Ebert gave it three stars. I have to admit, though, Eugene Levy was pretty funny in it, and he must have enjoyed it because he's been in every single sequel...so I guess that's a tiny glim...

I love running. It boosts my confidence, keeps me positive, and is very relaxing. I miss it quite a bit right now, since the Saskatchewan winters are too cold and icy for outdoor running and I can't afford to hit the gym, but at least there's always winter sports :D

I worked as a cook in a fast-food restaurant for about four years. For the first three years it was actually a pretty good job. Then in the last six months a new manager took over and I started to hate it there. For some reason, she didn't like me and she and this other woman who was in charge of th...

I'm not sure if I have a different way of acquiring or using ethics than NTs do. In some ways I do and in some ways I don't. I developed my system of ethics as a kid based on the very wise teachings of my parents and those around me, which I suppose is no different from NT's. Part of it also was a r...
