I don't get any side effects from 7.5mg/day of haloperidol. But when I was on 20mg/day when I was 19, I was able to carry out a basic voluntary job without too much challenging behaviour, but I was falling asleep a lot and had parkinsonism. I am a pharmacology student, specialising in psychopharmac...

I haven't socialised for months. But then I have two friends who live 50 miles away. And they are busy people. And who wants to socialise with me in real life anyway, I cannot even carry on a conversation. I don't mind just seeing professionals and my parents. I don't think I would cope socialising...

I had cold baths (cannot have showers due to sensory issues) for three months as I had no hot water in the house. They certainly woke me up. Although I have a diminished ability to feel the cold and an excess ability to feel the heat, so the cold baths were welcoming in the summer.

Thanks. I take haloperidol for my severe challenging behaviour. It has stopped helping lately though. I'm seeing my psychiatrist on the 7th of October and my support worker will be there too. I will be brutally honest as I'm sick of my care coordinator, parents, uni etc being so ignorant and annoyi...

Thanks. I'm going to type a letter to my care coordinator and my psychiatrist. My support worker knows about autism but she's not assertive enough. I will text her tomorrow about this. At least she does well with texting, unlike my care coordinator. I'm going to also ask to be allowed to write a sc...

I will read other people's threads soon. I want to be of use to others as well as asking for help. Just that I am near meltdown atm. I just took some haloperidol. - I have been having serious difficulties with speech over the last month, more so then normal. The only way I can communicate with ease...

I do not like being with people socially. I don't mind so much if it's a support worker or doctor that knows me well, but when it's purely social, I am prone to becoming argumentative and aggressive. I have even been brought to mild violence many times. I only ever see one friend IRL who is really ...

When I was 2-4 years old, I used to line up all my toys, sorted by colour or size. Now I am 26 and I still line things up, but I use more developed strategies like alphabetical by author (my textbooks) or hexadecimal colour code (my sciencey tshirt collection). I am very intelligent but I think lin...

I am classic autistic so I guess I would be counted out then!

This is a silly idea, and all-Asperger's society, for the reasons stated above.

You should enter the weightlifting competition in the Special Olympics.

I will have a look into this, although in the meantime I need to get to a higher level on the weights, which will take time.

Sounds like a great discovery, Steel Maiden!

Do you use free weights, or Nautilus-type weights?

Thanks. Free weights mostly but also do the machines a bit too. Barbell is my favourite.

I do powerlifting 3-4 times a week, as well as adding other weight training exercises and a warm up / warm down, to total an 80 minute workout. I find powerlifting very helpful for my mental health and my autism. I am calmer after a weightlifting session. And my challenging behaviour has slowly red...
