irony (n.) : a bunch of people wearing the same special snowflake shirt. It would be a symbol, thus it doesn't matter if it is illogical that a bunch of people will be wearing the same snowflake. Humans are all different too, but on toilet doors the male and female symbols are always the same. Thus...

I like the snowflake too. I wonder which are the powers that be, that would have to agree to get rid of the other symbols and use a snowflake? how do we switch to the snowflake? who decides what the symbol will be?

Kingdom of Rats says: "theres no way a human coud kill without having had something go wrong in their lives and/or themselves which in own view woud make them severely mentaly disturbed as opposed to evil." First of all, I personally agree with you, as in that I feel the same, people who kill are no...

I think it is a media thing also. Autism/Asperger's is the flavor of the month these days and so as soon there is a murder spree I am sure the first thing the reporters are doing is trying to find a ASD link. I do not think that as a community we can do anything about it, even in forums like this on...

I think that the purpose of emotions is for them to trigger reactions and behaviors, so I'd say that if humans were engines, emotions would be the fuel, the sparks that come out of the sparkplugs and the oil in the various parts of the engine. The fuel, the sparks and the oil are not parts of the en...

I do have genuine empathy for some situations. For those where I don't have any, I have fake responses, like I say "awww" and make a sad face or I say "oh my god how terrible, poor lady" or I switch to anger from empathy like "this is SO unfair, unbelievable" etc But I do have strong empathy for sit...

Off topic slightly, the best tee-shirt I 've seen said "Is My Asperger's Confusing You?". I don't like symbols like the puzzle ribbon and this infinity one, plus the rainbow signifies being gay to most people. If need be I'd rather the symbol was the head of an alien or a spaceship as life feels lik...

I am the same, I find summer to be very frustrating. Windows open, people everywhere, even the smell of summer makes me feel frustrated. If I lived in a house by the ocean in a quiet setting, I would like it. On days where people ask me "what did you do today, it was such a lovely day", I say I went...

I just saw your post now, it is late here but tomorrow I will post some of those tweets! #aspie, #aspieroutine #aspieinseurity #aspieinsomnia etc . I looked at twitter in an attempt to read the Aspie wannabie tweets . I saw a lot of tweets for #aspie , 1 for #aspieroutine (a mother talking about her...

I agree, absolutely, I have come across wannabe Aspies myself also. Often, they have no clue! Sounds to me like most of those people are just self-diagnosed attention seekers who have no idea what it's actually like to be autistic. Not that it can really be "explained" to a neurotypical thoug...
