Having a meltdown today and just wish that I could just disappear. Don't think that anyone would miss me unless they needed something. I have come to the realization that my purpose in life is to make sure that everyone gets what they want and I set back and wait for the scraps. And when I stand up ...

know exactly how you feel. I can't afford to get the diagnosis either. And like you, since I've made the self-diagnosis, things seem to make more sense. My wife doesn't understand why I am the way that I am and thinks that if I just try harder, I can change the way that I am. It gets really at times...

Yet another day in which I find myself wondering what is wrong with me. Seems like most of my life I've been ignored, or "tolerated". And when I try to assert myself, then I'm told that I need to get over this "what about me" phase that I'm in. But what about me? Don't I have needs and wants just as...

I have this problem, mainly with my wife. I too have a problem with eye contact. So it's nice to hear that I'm not the only one that has this problem. When my wife says that I'm lying to her, no matter what I say, I can't convince her other wise. Needless to say, it has created a huge number of figh...

Just another day/year of being "alone" on my birthday. My daughter didn't call (she's an Aspie also) and my wife never even mentioned it once today. I'm not the type to fish for compliments or to remind people of my needs, and that gets me into trouble at times. Just really makes me wonder what is w...

Of all the things said to me, this one hurts the worst, especially when someone keeps trying to make me talk. It just makes me want not talk all the more.

I was wondering if there were any other Aspies who are born again Christians. I haven't seen any posts of those who claim to be. I am born again and in a way, it has created a lot of problems, at least with other so called Christians. They like to tell me to give it all to the Lord and He can change...

I'm in almost in the same situation, except I'm married to an emotionally abusive women. We were married for a short bit 28 years ago, and got divorced. Four years ago, we started talking again and got married again. It was a mistake from the start and it has been downhill since. My wife is like you...

I've been married for 4 years now. And I'm the one with AS. Things have been really, really difficult from the start. I re-married my 1st wife thinking that after 25 years apart, it would be different this time. WRONG. Admittedly, most of the problems stem from my inablility to talk to her, especial...
