quoted: 'One of the reasons many women on the spectrum have to survive on the wrong planet for decades before getting a diagnosis is because all women are taught to minimize their eccentricities by mimicking and echoing their peers. (For similar reasons, many lesbians only realize that they’re gay i...

Personally she completely turns me off. Woman aspies present differently than males and most know how to mimic nuerotypical behaviors to get through most situations (even if on the inside they are lost and even near panic). She behaves like a male on the spectrum to me - she is completely off puttin...

I'm sorry you are having such issues. I don't unfortunately know what to tell you. I have been the complete opposite as what you describe your brother. While I can be quite angry vocally, when it comes to physical violence I can't stomach it. I can't even pop my kids on the butt in response to naugh...

I have always had sleep issues as well. Even now it is almost 3 am and I prefer not to sleep. Have you considered your son may have sensory issues? If his bed clothes bother him he may not be able to get to sleep. Or if he needs deep pressure input (like I do) he would need a weighted blanket to com...

I think the method for earning "screen time" in this video is brilliant.

She uses this in other areas than what was shown in this video too.

When you have a browser that supports add-ons (like Mozilla Firefox) you can get an advert killer.

I don't see Alex because he isn't there - it seems my add on sees him as an advert.

Beyond not seeing Alex I don't see ads of any sorts anywhere I go on the net. Love it.

Because it is held true of the original TV series launched in 1964? There is only so far an imagination can stretch :) Star Trek was a huge step forward for all sci fi - sometimes if you change a good thing you can ruin it. The show worked back then, and for the most part it works now in the current...

Have to agree with the others here - once trust is broken it hardly ever gets rebuilt as solid as it once was, if it ever can be rebuilt. Aspies are very trusting, gullible even (sorry everyone, at least this is true for me). So to betray (especially by cheating - and for me it is the emotional betr...

Don't take it personal. I posted a thread that felt important to me too.. even asked outright for feedback and not one response. It just seems the way of it sometimes. I was not going to reply to you either - not because I hate you or think you don't need a response... but because I have no useful a...

Look up projecting :) You notice it in others and finding it annoying because it mirrors your own behaviors you are not aware of (or previously not aware of) ;) Maybe now that you are aware of the "annoying behaviors" you will succeed in changing. When I first learned of projecting it changed almost...

I read your post and all I could think was that your grandma was selfish and treating you very unfairly. You don't have a right to talk and visit with your own family? Why? Because she wants to talk and be center of attention instead of you? There is no crime in you talking. If you didn't let anyone...

I also have issues with this. I can't stand it when I am at work and people reach around me and they brush my sides. Or when my supervisors need to wait for me to finish a task and stand watching me. I get so discombobulated I can barely function and feel witless. I also get annoyed when customers t...

Where there is an up - there is a down so to speak.... and I felt like all I read was the down bits there. We misunderstand NT's - don't know how to communicate with them well - but they don't know how to communicate how we understand clearly either. I have had more heartache at the hands of NT's in...

I feel baffled and at a loss for words... I am surely misunderstanding most of what I am reading here....

Check out the articles link while there... that is much of where my "baffled" has derived from.
