I guess it was just one bad experience and physical therapy (which I am done with for now) was worse than doctor's appointments. That PT appointment in particular they did something different too fast for me to form words or even have the concept of words. I hope I never need to go again. But if so,...

Blazingstar, I wish I could tell them. But my mind shuts down almost immediately to the point where I have no concept of words like stop or don't. I have no ability to make my mouth move to say anything. I have no ability to move any part of my body. That doesn't happen often to the extreme it did t...

Usually, I can move away and am around people who know not to touch me but there are situations that (example medical) where I can't avoid being touched. My doctor knows and is great about not touching me. But there are other medical people. Telling them I am overstimulated easily is not the problem...

Good to know I am not the only one with these types of experiences. It just seems strange and sort of like I 'should' want more variety or 'should' like certain other types of foods.

I eat that way for long periods of time but then after a while I can feel my body telling me I need more of a specific thing. Sometimes it is a nutrient. Sometimes it is somehow intuitively knowing and being prompted by the Holy Ghost (yes I do believe God knows what our bodies need.) that I need to...

The way kids eat is often to eat a certain food for long periods of time and not other foods. Do any of you continue that? Is it part of autism? Is that why as an adult with autism, I continue that? So hard to eat healthy on one because I know that even when this one ends, another will start and I w...

Thanks. I will look into your suggestions, especially about custom molds. I am on Medicaid/Medicare and wonder if they will pay an audiologist to do that.

I won't have my head under water but there is no guarantee that I won't be splashed or anything. But the noise of the machine (don't know what it is but it makes a constant noise) and the people and needing to have the emotional energy to reply when someone says hi or something like that is more tha...

I take several. I take anti-seizure medicines: Lamatrogine, generic Keppra, Phenytoin. I take Lyrica for fibromyalgia. I take Tylenol #3 occasionally for pains not from fibromyalgia. I wasn't diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome until I was in my 30s and have never been put on anything for that. I tak...

I hope I will feel better when off this medicine.
Autism was so intertwined with personality I don't know who 'myself' is without it. And therapy for phobias that I have started keeps changing the level of autism I feel.

I don't really know what to title this post. I haven't been on in a while. I see a therapist for anxiety. Anxiety is worsening. But as that is treated too much of even the positive things about autism (formerly Asperger's) go away. I hate it because I feel like I don't know me anymore. I do feel lik...

I don't feel anxiety at all. Yet therapists treat me like I have it but it is more like they automatically assume it because I am on the spectrum. That's what my question was about. If everyone has it, then I must have it no matter if I feel like it or not because I know I am on the spectrum. Or if ...

Somehow for me it seems to depend on the emotion. Some emotions I can't feel at all. Other's I feel I often pick up other people's emotions more than my own.

It is very possible to have strong emotions and be on the spectrum. I disagree with your therapist but more importantly is what do you think? If you have already been diagnosed then you probably have it. You know yourself better than anyone else. How long have you been with this therapist? If you fe...
