My Dad is extremely extraverted and sociable. Not at all autistic, but I and most of my other relatives are convinced that he has ADHD. :) He's in his seventies, so never diagnosed.

My mother may have some mild autistic traits, but also some very un-autistic traits.

I am a female aspie and straight, and I have 'male pattern' fingers. Hmmmm.. I don't want my fingers to be male. I'll just say that I have lesbian fingers. :-)

I'm sorry to read that you are feeling so bad. Don't you have some kind of student supporter where you study? Maybe they can help you. I don't really have advice, since I'm not as badly affected as you are and I can't imagine how that must feel. I can give a few suggestions, but they may be useless ...

People are so stupid. They are mourning and sad about a person who committed suicide, and they can't stand it if people say something that doesn't fit in with their concept of 'appropriate', an dyet they ignore other who are depressed. Pretty likely that those exact 'correctly sad' people were the o...

I am very mildly hypermobile. I did cause me some problems, but they used to be minor. Now I am 45 and they are not all that minor anymore. Walking is painful, and my elbows are often sore too. I'm worried that it will get worse. I'm trying to lose weight, because I gained a lot in a very short time...

I think one week is not very long; I read that the side effects should pass within 'the first few weeks' so that would suggest at least two weeks. I was prescribed citalopram and amytriptylene. They helped a little but not much. I did manage to gain ten kilos of weight in three months, and I was alr...

Thanks for the replies. I suppose I'll understand it eventually. Well, I hope so. At least they announced that thanks to my online wailing :? they will now be doing a blog about this, so there will be some explanation.

One of the people now explained a bit more. It's still confusing, and I think the others are still angry with me.

I wish I hadn't tried so hard to be a 'good girl'. It never worked anyway, and it still only ever backfires, and I don't even know who I really am most of the time.

I have done some book reviews for a very very small publisher, as a volunteer. So far, most of the contact has been via facebook and email, but a few hours ago there was a facebook post asking if it was okay to move the email addresses of the reviewers (including me) to Zoho, as they will be using t...

I care a lot about the feelings of objects, although I know it's completely irrational. It's annoying too because obviously I can't protect everything from harm, so I get upset a lot. I also care passionately about all animals. And about small children. I also care a great deal about older humans. I...

I used to get meltdowns as a child and a teenager, but they were called tantrums. I'd scream and hit and bite myself (and when I was very young I'd also hit and bite others) and then later cry. I still get meltdowns, but less often, and I'm getting better at relaxing so they blow over sooner. I find...

I think that a person I know has used their services (not completely sure if it was Nottinghamshire or elsewhere)- and profited from them too. I don't know him that well, but I know his ex girlfriend, and she may be able to contact him. But perhaps he already knows.

It's a difficult question. When I was younger I was horrified by everything that made fun of others, especially sarcasm. To be honest, I'm still a bit like that. Only when I know people really well I know when they are joking and when not. If the person who posted that remark is your friend, you'd k...
