I’ve talked about getting one before, but now I have one! She is a beautiful young girl named Walnuts. I was wondering if there was anyone around to talk to about the challenges of training, having a SD when you don’t look disabled, etc. I am training her myself. I love her, but it is not the easies...

Hi, I'm a long time member here, although I don't come much any more. I am an adult woman with Autism. I'm wondering if some parents of Autistic kids might help me. THere is a park near where I live and these 4 year old twins (boy and girl) come. I met them first a year ago, they were on the swings ...

Did anybody here follow April's pregnancy? Thank goodness for those meager Tues hours, because I still suffer from giraffe withdrawal. Life just seemed a little better with April and Ollie in it!

Aww, that's sad. At least you loved them. I've had problems personifying things too, but I think people should care about objects around them. Otherwise you're just surrounded by meaningless things! Besides, if skibum is right and they are in heaven, just imagine whose feet they might be warming! Jo...

Has anybody here ever tried to make pottery? I am trying to learn it now, on my 3rd class (meaning 3rd series of classes, not 3rd class session). I am finding it nearly impossible to get the hang of it, while all my classmates are building these perfect bowls, cups, whatever. Yesterday I tried the w...

Geranium, when they tested you, what did they actually do to test you? What tests did they do to conclude that you had myoclonis seizures? That is one reason I am wondering is that, as I mentioned earlier, the neurologist did not do any electrical testing on my brain whatsoever. All he did was ask ...

Sounds like a panic attack to me, they are def connected to your stress levels as you describe them. But see another doc. As your friend who can only pretend to know what she's talking about, that's my advice! There could be a real medical condition that is triggered by strong emotion. What's going ...

Wozeree, I really want to get a service dog too. I know this would definitely make me stand out more, and brand me as disabled for everyone to see, but I think the presence of a large, calm animal would really go a long way towards curtailing my meltdowns and self-injurious behaviour. It would also...

Actually IMHO thats kinda cool. Dwarf men are probably an "underserved community". :D Who said is was men  I assumed that meant "like" in a sexual sense. And she is a female, and I also assumed that she is hetero. But she might have meant just "liked" them as peo...

I know what you mean. My one and only accommodation is a giant headphone set. Where I work there is enough noise to send me over the top after five minutes. My boss hasn't told anybody in my department, so the people I work under directly prob think I'm a jerk or something. But it's that or go bat s...

I like that guy on game of thrones and I've never even seen the show. Nor do I have tv or have any recollection of knowing anything about him, so why I think I like him I don't know. But I do!

But to answer your question - no. It would be weird if you hated them all for no reson though.

Has this ever happened to anyone here? I've only been on for a few days. Always before I have seen other people's FB and it literally made me shudder. All that socializing and having so much coming at you all the time. So I never even wanted to try it. But a few days ago I found out that they have g...

Photographic memory is kind of a cliche. I was thinking about that when I was watching Sherlock, whom they imply has Aspergers. I'd be more interested in seeing a character with Autism who has to deal with it just like most of us normal people do. Your way might be more mainstream successful though,...

THis story sounds like a really interesting idea, but it's hard to tell much from the short sample. I think you should keep writing.
