Chris Christie, governor of New Jersey, has been publicly accused of corruption but so far hasn't gotten into any real trouble. Before that happened, he was thought to be a serious contender to be the next President of the US. The question (barring future developments) is whether these accusations h...

I'm a bit odd this way. I've always been confident understanding others' code. I began my programming career writing in assembler and debugging the resulting machine language, so I suppose it was a survival skill. In fact, I often don't pay much attention to human language documentation. For me, com...

This questionnaire seems biased toward weeding out people who are OK using Microsoft products. Or is it just because Windows occurs last alphabetically in a list of operating systems. Well that theory fails when one comes to the mobile questions where iPhone is listed ahead of Android. I"d really li...

If Hitler was actually a socialist, he probably would have had so many fans in corporate America. Like Henry Ford, for instance.

Henry Ford hated Jews and would have supported anybody having the potential to exterminate them. I really think it's that simple.

...less privileged Americans haven't fought for greater equality as a group . I might add the importance of race. For most of America's history, disadvantaged whites have been played against blacks as a sort of "divide and conquer" approach to keeping both under control. While young working class F...

...democratization meaning that in principle one's life is not supposed to be dictated by the circumstances of one's birth ( debatable in practice , I know!). So in the US you don't have the notion that if you're "working-class" then your family and everyone you know automatically supports the "lab...

There's an app called Tapatalk that is popularly used for forums.

I believe the forum would have to "enable" its use somehow.

Sometimes when I navigate to forums from my phone I'm prompted to install this. I'm certain the admins could manage this if they put their minds to it.

It is because they use the flawed so-called 'Nolan Chart' which tilts the conventional political spectrum 45 degrees. I feel compelled to contribute to this thread but I have no single cogent response in mind, so I'll make a couple of observations in no particular order. 1.) This discussion is pred...

Does it seem you are frequently told you are standing in somebody's way especially in a social situation?

It seems to me NTs have an instinctive ability to avoid being in others' way.

In the US "lb." is typically used in writing. Some tradesmen e.g. butchers may use "#" when jotting down notes. Traditional IT people have called this a "pound" sign for decades but the usage was unfamiliar to laymen. I would say the person on the street thinks of it as a "hash" (sign) as in " hasht...

Wow, when I studied French we had little use for hash signs. This would have flustered me as well.
