What I find confusing is that the diagnostic criteria for Asperger's states that there must be no speech delay, which is what separates it from high functioning autism. Yet, there are people who were diagnosed with A.S AND claimed they had speech delays, one of them being the author of Breaking Thro...

I know that autism affects several brain structures/regions such as the amyglada, frontal lobe, cerebellum, brain stem, and parietal lobe, but how exactly does the brain of someone with a high functioning form of autism differ from someone with a low functioning form of autism? For example, how does...

I've been hooked on the Five Nights at Freddy's series since late November 2014 when I first played it on the tablet. I have all 3 games on my iPad and same with on Steam. Reply to this post if you also love the games! Let's start a chat about FNAF! :) The backstory is really intriguing and the game...

Oh...okay. I'm not sure what that is then, PastIsPrologue. A heaviness in the foot when stepping on a colored tile that's not the same color as the majority of the tiles inside of a hallway....hmmmmm...it could be something related to synesthesia if not synesthesia but I don't know what it'd be call...

My family and I went to this restaurant called "Texas Roadhouse" for dinner because they received a gift-card from my older step brother. I've been there several times before, and it was kind of loud, but this time was a record-breaker. It was so unbelievably loud, so loud that I had to le...

@PastIsPrologue So you have ASSOCIATIONS of terms or words/letters with colors and personalities, but you don't have any unique sensory responses to them? Then that's most likely not synesthesia. But it's not JUST about feeling. It of course CAN be but if you could smell, taste, or hear the terms or...

This question just came to my mind. Now, this is going to sound horrible, and I want to make it clear that this is NOT a good idea for an experiment whatsoever to try. This is only a hypothetical scenario to ponder. What would happen if a newborn baby with a neurotypical wired brain was placed in an...

Like, at this very moment. You don't have to state why. 1 being none to 10 being full-blown panic leading to destructive behavior.
I'm at a 1.9

I think he may have that or ADHD, or a combination of the two. It seems like a lot of aspects pertaining to society are foreign to him, like he questions things to Hobbes in comic strips, about life and the logic behind Santa Claus. Also, he has a notably advanced vocabulary for his age considering ...
