Be as Autistic as you can be, no reason to add the stress of passing now. Yeah, that's a good point. I'm reminded of a 1986 British music video by the satirical comedy cartoon group, "Spitting Image ", " Santa Claus is on the dole ." - Not going to be any presents this years - s...

Yesterday morning. Which basically means that my condition is probably inoperable. Six months ago I was diagnosed with level 1 ASD and I was so happy about it. Finally I have an answer to a life long puzzle. But I can't see anything positive about this latter diagnoses. When I asked the Gastroentero...

I doubt very much that there is any one cause of ASD. There is almost certainly a genetic component. There may be many other factors. Just as there is no one single cause to seizure disorders or one kind of seizure disorder - I suspect there may be many different causes and perhaps many different ty...

That would be like wishing I was something I'm not. I suppose when I was younger it really hurt me that I didn't ever seem to fit in. But, I've come to realize that there is no point in trying to be something one is not.

I suppose though officially diagnosed with Level 1 ASD - I am on the more mild end of the spectrum. The difficulties that I face the most, are nervousness, anxiety and despair/depression. It is also very difficult for me to handle unscheduled/non-routine activities that are necessary. I realize that...

I have had G.I. problems all my life. In fact I'm scheduled for a gastroscopy this coming week. I had only recently learned that there is a high incidence among people on the Spectrum. Which causes which would be an interesting question. It makes sense that people with a nervous condition would have...

I was 59 when I first was given a preliminary diagnoses of ASD -Level 1 - the equivalent of Asperger's - and 60 when formally and officially diagnosed in writing. No, I don't think 14 is late. But I guess that is all a matter of perspective. :D

Of course Asperger's or Level 1 Autism or High Function Autism or whatever you want to call is still Autism. The classic autistic who have to cope with so much more impairment, sacrifice so much more dignity and live without the option of "pretending to be normal" that inspires me. Their t...
