If I were to just hear the description of a narcissict, I'd consider such a person to be completely uninteresting, off-putting, and overall someone who I'd want absolutely nothing to do with. BUUUTTTT.. my best friend/business partner has a lot of very narcissistic qualities. It's not to the point o...

vBulletin! I run a few very elaborate websites. I've been able to do everything I need to do with free open-source software/libraries, custom PHP apps, or a combination thereof--EXCEPT for forum software. vB is much, much better than anything else around. Not just in terms of the software itself, bu...

Do you drink caffeine? It really elps sometimes (to calm oneself down) I was gonna suggest that too. A LOT of caffine and/or stimulant ADD drugs like Ritalin give me the mood & energy boos I need to get through boring tasks that don't interest me. I'm the same exact way. I'll put off tasks that are...

I'm not really sure what to do other than to pray for some money for an Ipod so I can tune it out If your work computer has a CD-ROM drive and a sound card, why not just use that? Or buy a $10 portable CD player from Wal-Mart.. There's no need to suffer while you're saving up to buy an ipod! Just g...

Just last Summer, there was a banner that was hung up along the top of my local 7-11 that read, "I'm havin' an Eatwave!" I was very offended. Do I really have to explain why? Yes, please. Does it have something to do with the "h" being dropped, as is also the case with some British dialects? If so,...

Yes, that's exactly what it was really. That friend and I also happen to run a business together, so he realizes that intelligence and interest in my work are also some AS traits which happen to be very beneficial. And he has always envied how I don't really care what other people think about me, wh...

What kind of stereo equipment? Car? Home? Digital? Analog? Surround sound? This place won't be as good as a specialized electronics/stereo forum, but I and several others here are pretty interested in & knowledgeable about that kind of stuff.

In addition to AS, which I've never particularly minded having or discussing with anyone who's interested, I am also homosexual. That's....not something I like so much. I always wanted the wife, 2 kids, etc. I've tried dating girls and being around them in general, thinking I could get used to their...

I used DXM a few times because I liked the weird thought patterns and closed-eye hallucinations. But after the 3rd or 4th time that all went away, and all I got out of it was the drunk, nauseous feeling and 2 days of diaharrea. Even after I didn't touch the stuff for 4 months and then did a bottle a...

Linux isn't going anywhere in the server market. Last I heard it's still continuing to gain credibility and momentum. Pretty amazing considering just 5 years ago, most big corporations wouldn't even think of it. They had the misconception that free, open software was full of bugs and security holes ...

Perfect example! If that's really true, then why aren't they the leading brand? And why don't they say who it is?

This is a spin-off of a Fark thread at http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=1834737 - I thought it would be fun here since many of us hate trendy buzzwords and incorrect use of language. Here are some of mine: "All-natural" food and "Herbal" medicine. - Unless it contains manmade eleme...

I ended up getting a 6600GT. That made an incredible difference! I also found that it is VERY overclockable, even with the stock cooler. BF2 plays wonderfully now. I know what you mean about crappy RAM.. I have 2 sticks of 512MB in my computer. I let a friend borrow one stick for his new motherboard...

"She was encouraged to reach for the Sky. I was put into the Idiot's Job Search programme in College, where I've met a lot of LOSERS!") Almost every post of yours makes some kind of reference to how you are so intelligent, but everyone else thinks you're stupid. Instead of complaining about it cons...
