I'm having the same problem. I think part of this issue is due to the fact that we tried to combine the mask with the real self, and it's stuck in the middle now. Part of us wants to be the mask, part wants to be the real self, part wants to be a fantasy self. Our fears and emotions are colliding wi... |

Yes, sometimes I wonder if they even realize they find me weird. I have had several real friendships in my life, roughly 8 since as far as I can remember. The rest of the people (about 25 or so) I considered friends would gradually start behaving with hostility towards me. I would ask them why, and ... |

After the internet became highly accessible and became a requirement to function in society people cared a lot more in general, but that's not necessarily a good thing (in my view). |

A lot of people that are pro-trump don't really agree with real right-wing ideas in general, they just consider themselves right wing because they don't like what they perceive as the left wing. Left and right ideologies overlap a lot more than their actual members because Americans are polarized, a... |

For some of us (NT and aspie although mostly aspie), the default is talk and silence is scary. We wonder what thoughts you have which are unexpressable in words. Unfair to people to whom the default is silence and words are scary, of course. I'm really talkative but I was known as quiet in the only... |

I have this pretty bad as well. I'm locked into little sectionalized worldviews that make it hard for me to see reality as a whole. It's not psychosis because I know what's real, it's like my brain makes unusual connections that are often logically sound but unpleasing in other ways and either unnot... |

I'm confused by this whole thing. I am thinking the same you are. I also find it interesting how Tirol is at a distance of 3 but Bolzano is 12, while Finnish Swede, being least related to either of those, is at 4.2. |

I seem to struggle a lot with complex information, like instructions that have too many sub-components to them, but trying to explore why just shuts down my brain. This is most visible in math and logic (I am taking a math course and struggling a lot). I also tend to shut down very easily when I can... |

Welcome to wrong planet! I also have serious attachment issues. I've wanted a relationship but I don't experience sexual attraction to anyone and most people end up attacking me because they feel like I took advantage of them. Sometimes I want to give up the relationship aspect but the thought of po... |

Friends and family are a stretch for me but I do it for them as much as I can handle. Everyone else always figures out this boundary and pushes it as much as they can. They keep continuing to get closer and closer despite how many times I tell them to step back and when I leave they criticize me. I'... |

My immune system had decided to take its own vacation when I most needed it and I picked up everything with some permanent effects. I'm gaining it back but I still look like a mess. I don't know how long your trip is. If it's in a few days, you can just call in sick before you leave like you already... |

I just get very slow, and my control over linguistic ability diminishes. I can talk excessively or I go mute. Mental processes that are more complex, involving something like executive functioning, end up collapsing and I am in a dazed state for a while until I have a chance to catch up to my senses... |

Knowing the area and knowing where to go hide and recalibrate. Often corners where there are no people or spaces that are hidden behind a lot of stuff. I find that bathrooms are one of the best places to recover in. The smell is overwhelming, but that is only one sense as opposed to two, and they ar... |

In the group I've been with only a few people have any interest in either. Most of the time people on AS can display highly analytical thinking or have direct speech, which is often mistakenly associated with the same kind of speech scientists/mathematicians use to express their ideas. Someone who l... |
