The true definition of "alpha male" does not apply to humans. We are not pack animals. By the way, this thread is 5 years old. Why do we feel stressed without friends? Why do I feel better with 3 other males than 1? How would humans survive in nature? Why does it bother people that "Noone loves me....

However, our stress triggers are higher than ever, so the need for some kind of authority or alpha often seems immense. Also, the whole point of "alpha/non-alpha" is mostly to find the best companion t...

BUT sadly, I think this group is a minority of alphas. Many alphas feel a sense of entitlement and are conditioned to believe that they can have whatever they want (And I'm talking the hardcore genetically predisposed alpha, not a well meaning Beta with a kind heart who over many years works to ach...

The "alpha male" figure is all performance  Barney Stinson character is an example of this. Usually men who were full of complexes in the past become alpha males. It's like the correlation long car = short height. Alpha males need to exaggerate their behaviour, improve their muscles or acquire...

When I go to WrongPlanet to either vent about my troubles or distract myself from them, I notice how many other people also discuss how miserable their lives are. I read these cries for help in hopes that I can somehow assist the posters, but I feel there's nothing I can do. Even when I have an ide...

Humans don't know enough about brain to say that. They can only deduce what happens in the brain and how that affects them. It's a failure.

I feel that most of the difficulties we, people with ASDs and other disorders, have, are caused by this society, not by the handicap itself. Maybe if the society was different, more tolerant and uderstanding, we would have less problems with our disorders, maybe even no problems at all. In other wo...

Actually, the reason you were bullied was because you got offended at tgem kidding around at how you were "stupid". Humans don't really judge. Then you retaliated and that's what bullying is. Why do you think there's something WRONG with you. There is nothing wrong witg you:-, you're exactly how you...

I've been declared mentally unstable by my school and psychologist, so I've been taken out school and locked at home for long periods of time. I've started to cut, and every time I see a knife, I just get the urge to start. But this is for the better of me, so I can only pray for more strength. In ...

But we're nice people. Not just anyone can be an alpha. ... None of you have probably ever seen an alpha since they're so rare. oh, so you purport to speak for all alphas? ... when someone uses alpha to refer to him/herself - a fancy term to stroke their own egos ... Need we more evidence... Being ...

I guess when I think of the term "alpha", I think of the people who use it to describe themselves... which are generally the kind of people I've just described. At least in my experience. when I was in the army and civil service, I worked around many people who were like opposite sides of the alpha...

ohhhhhhhhh those people. The kind of people who have evolved beyond any need for recognition or dominance or approval. They just do stuff for the hell of it, and somehow it just seems... right. I guess that's why I can't personally consider them "alpha"... those people aren't driven by any desire t...
