I am nutbag - otherwisw: Laura. I am 53, female, high genius (a real pain in the arse), and self diagnosed. As I do not trust NT braincare to serve exotica and because there is no cure and because i don't want one I will remain self diagnosed. I possess many of the standard Aspie traits, and have sc...

For many years I wondered what was going on in human connction that i didn't get, I thought there must be some "back channel" that eluded me. then I found that the "back channel" is emotion. then i found that in most human communication it is not the back channel, but the front one. Much was then ex...

I love math. Unfortunately I never had a great math teacher too, and also - I note that I do my best work conceptually. So math (as formulae) positively related to concepts owned mentally by me I grok. On the other hand; a bunch of terms hanging unsuspended in mid air - typically the way it is taugh...

I pace. I can do back and forth, in circles, sometimes with a sort of "military" turn I learned from a friend decades ago, or very stylized as per "Number Six". and if I pace in a straight line I go for a walk. When I saw: "pacing" I wondered if someone was enquiring about the NLP practise if pacing...

I have emotions too. My trouble is that I seem to lack some sort of emotional IQ. I have them, I know that others have them too, but I don't grok - even my own. So I try to deal with them as a black box - even my own. I have learned how to deal with external society fairly well, but am still perplex...

:? Does anyone else do anything like this: when I am walking (mostly i walk alone) i have an internal soundtrack (sometimes I will actually make the sounds - quietly) of a locomotive (diesel electric) working up the grade as I go uphill, then as I descend the sound is of my riding the dynamics. 'Hop...

Lemme try this again, sorry if it half posted: I hit wrong keys on computer. A joke you actually have to DO: Go to the fridge, Grab the milk, Hold it - at eye level - and off to one side, Move it, still at eye level, to the other side, The milk is better and safer, because now it. . . . . . is past ...

Boy! that eye contact thing. I have trained myself to do eyecontact with the mundanes. However two points thuss: 1. I still feel like pressure waves from the NTs eyes will surely explode my head, 2. I don't get and useful data from it. But i\I think I like knowing of Asperger's. I have been carrying...
