Cumbersome process and ‘arbitrary’ Israeli inspections slow aid delivery into Gaza, US senators say At Egypt’s Rafah border crossing, lines of hundreds of trucks carrying aid wait for weeks to enter Gaza, and a warehouse is full of goods rejected by Israeli inspectors, everything from water testing...

And South Africa had a historical friendship with Israel, so that’s kinda surprising. The ANC has always had a relationship with the PLO and then later the Palestinian Authority. South Africa was one of the few countries in Africa that had relations with both Israel and Palestine since the PLO beca...

Palestinian refugees stuck in Lebanon for 70 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1_VvV59lXw Oct 27, 2023 [...] Palestinian refugees are a crucial part of Lebanon’s population, even though they have almost no rights in the country. In this video, I visited two Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut...

There was this very interesting banned book by the title of “Lightning Out of Lebanon: Hezbollah Terrorists” yet I could get it via online means way back) I read long ago. It talks about Hezbollah cells operating in the US. This conference on this book was held on 15th March, 2005. The day after th...

Hmm, I don't know. I'd think that the fact that this has been the most destructive in history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the most casualties on both sides, means that people on both sides should probably think again about their long-standing positions. Israelis should see that Netanya...

The issue is the same as it has been for a hundred years. You have two groups that want the same land and enough people on both sides willing to fight to the death for all of it to sabotage any peace deals. Usually in this type of situation they fight until one side wins decisively. What one hundre...

My view is that a 2-state solution can still be done, even though geographical non-contiguousness makes it difficult. The key would be to have the West Bank and Gaza under one non-Hamas leadership. If Hamas refuses to relent, we may end up with three states rather than two. Or we can just give Gaza...

Of course, we all know that the Oslo peace process was derailed, which is why that status quo remains. If all the settlers were moved back into Israel proper and the armistice lines were the de-facto borders, then there won't be such enclaves, the whole of West Bank and Gaza would be considered the...

My view is that a 2-state solution can still be done, even though geographical non-contiguousness makes it difficult. No, it's just not physically possible for Palestine to function as an independent state this way. See the maps of West Bank Areas A, B, and C on this page and at the bottom of this ...

People are allowed to criticize holy books and beliefs on WP. They are not allowed to attack people. I can critique the tenets of Christianity for example but not Christians. As per the PPR guidelines: While it is acceptable to attack and debate beliefs (political, religious etc) it is not acceptab...

The definition of genocide requires the planned destruction of a people group. If Israel really wanted to commit genocide, they could have decided not to ask people to evacuate and simply carpet bombed entire Gaza strip with 100 times more civilian casualties that what there is, and done it much fa...

I think that they believe that an unconditional ceasefire would be bad because it might allow Hamas to regroup and regain power. Well, tough. It is largely Netanyahu's fault that Hamas got into power in the first place. We need the U.S.A. to get serious about pressuring Israel into a real -- and hu...

Many polls indicate the vast majority of Israeli citizens want peace with the Palestinians. I think that should be starting point for reconciliation rather than focusing on one two bad apples in the Knesset. Lol, imagine still believing this is an accurate assessment. All the apples are bad, the wh...
