Smiling when there is nothing to smile about makes a person look like an idiot. Frowning and having an aggressive posture all the time is intimidating. I have done everything to avoid counseling of this type. I always seemed to get the people who said, "You can't do this for (whatever reason)." I have done many of the things they said I'd never do, but there is a long list of things I still need to do.

I was just thinking how difficult it would be for me to do certain things if I found myself completely alone. I think of all the things others do easily, and it seems overwhelming. But then, years ago, I couldn't imagine myself functioning even as well as I do now.

I definitely like having interests, but I enjoy having friends, too. I like to be in the company of people who are interested in things as well.
