I shower a lot more. Shower in the morning, shower when I get to work, shower when I leave work, shower between aerosolisation procedures at work, and when I get home. I work in a newly made ER for suspected COVID-19 that's isolated from the rest of the ER. I also wear a mask when I leave the house ...

I think it's an overreaction to close all non-essential companies, limit the number of customers in the grocery store at a time. Close schools. It's really not. This will kill a lot of people, including many people who don't have coronavirus as the hospitals get stretched past their limit. I fully ...

I think you're missing the point and focusing on the wrong numbers. A ratio isn't a very useful number in epidemiology, you need numbers of people to then extrapolate how many will need hospitalisation, how many will need ICU beds, to determine what resources are needed and when to enact containment...

Yes, but it's part of my job. I work in a major hospital emergency department and I have to be prepared for what will probably be the hardest year I've ever seen. Disseminating information to patients and less experienced staff requires being up to date with the latest information.

I am perfectly happy to sit at home by myself normally, even without a pandemic on the rise. I am far more fearful of being a vector for the disease, as I work at a major hospital emergency department, often at triage, and routinely am seeing more people with it. Given how recently a GP here was lyn...

I do not understand why anyone would want a Chromebook. It's a laptop that arbitrarily has limited functionality, that seems to serve Google more than the consumer. It really seems like a device that Google should be paying users to use, not the other way around.

I've been playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps . I've played the first few hours and so far it's a large improvement over the first game. I loved the first game, with its incredibly tight platforming, controls and fluid animation. It had a great sense of flow with how you traversed the game's level...

I have been playing Maiden and Spell , a new game that I've been eyeing for a bit. It seemed like a neat concept, and the art and music drew me. It's a shoot em up with a single player boss rush campaign, with additional extra bosses rewarded for completion of the main campaign. But it's also a mult...

There's lots of VR horror games, Alien Isolation was probably the first major one and it came out six years ago.

I was planning on getting Resident Evil 7 for PC VR, but it was never released. I don't have a huge interest in it, it looks like a standard indie horror game, which are a dime a dozen.

Microtransactions for software aren't a problem, and they're hardly new as they've been around since the 80s to 90s. The real problem is the difficulty for users to find what they're paying for with any given purchase. It's difficult to tell whether you're getting full functionality for a timed peri...

Resident Evil 4 was the first in the series I played. I had played the Alone in the Dark and Clock Tower games prior and they weren't really that compelling for me, basically just variations on point and click adventure games except occasionally a scary thing might happen, and they had some garbage ...

I also tend to dislike video games that encourage a completionist attitude. The kind that threaten "If you don't find all sixty hidden rocks in this game we'll give you a bad ending!" I'm the sort of person who usually focuses on the main goal of the game unless you offer me side quests t...

Bluetooth has considerable latency regardless of how its used, owing to the additional compression and processing required.

There's nothing wrong with touch controls, it's when games aren't designed for them that it's a problem. Bluetooth headphones aren't really ideal for gaming either, they have a massive amount of latency.

There's good games on phones, they're just incredibly difficult to find out of all the free to play garbage, gacha games and conventional games hideously reconfigured for touch controls. The phone app stores do a terrible job at curation, making it impossible to figure out what you're actually buyin...
