People maintain things that are convenient for them. Colonialism took a variety of forms, and used existing cultural practices as well as imported ones to develop its stereotypes. It's not like white people invented all this stuff out of whole cloth at a committee meeting. I find the people who thi...

$51,000 per year is NOT a high salary in the US, by any means..... Professors should not inject their own personal political beliefs into his instruction. That's considered a cardinal rule. I've never taken sociology. I like the discipline---but many of the viewpoints, to me, are too dogmatically b...

This is a racist-based assumption that is being too normalized among Caucasians, every time I am with an Asian and people are like 'are you dating your maid?'. The little girl does have asian facial features. No, I don't think the article is overacting, this symptom is real. lol, the obtuseness in ...

Nowadays I am far left, especially economically. But it's just a rule of thumb which shouldn't be taken too literally since I don't fit so neatly into any particular ideology. Generally I support reducing the concentration of power on all levels based on the stake that we as a people have in it rath...

Maybe you and adifferentname require absolute certainty before you will pronounce someone a follower of the ideology that dare not be named. I am more inclined to accept the "looks like a duck, walks like a duck, sounds like duck" standard. I find it absurd that someone who deliberately p...

So far the efforts to downplay the racial significance of his remarks on this topic seem to exist somewhere in the vicinity of the risible, the unconvincing or the implausible. Nobody is downplaying the "racial significance". You made a very specific assertion "Bannon is racist"...

Took the words right out of my mouth. I do not want to bury myself in identity politics nor do I want to bury my head in the sand and turn a blind eye to discrimination altogether. I find such people are hard to find but one of the easiest ways for me to identify them is the willingness to criticize...

I do see a pattern where people like to kick those who are already hard on themselves. I find it quite disgusting. It's hard to tell if they actually believe they are helping or if they just like the feel of being able to draw blood from someone they perceive as in a weaker position than themselves...

Apparently I've been talking right passed you. My point is there are more unacceptable extremists out there than just daesh! It isn't JUST daesh that believes in stoning to death for "adultery" and other such travesties. There are even "mainstream" clerics that support crap like...

There seem to be a lot of autistic people on this forum who instead of trying to empathise with other marginalised groups over what we share that might help us understand one another instead seem to resent those other marginalised groups for some reason, and further isolate themselves in their igno...

Just saw the picture of the s**t and blood from the severed intestinal lining. And they say we need to be cured . Usually i complain about the activities of the reacti...

No. I don't believe Asians should be discriminated against. I don't believe in quotas. I said "I'm sorry Asians feel discriminated against." How does that make me advocate discrimination against Asians? I don't see the logic. You just don't agree with me about diversity. Well.....we can't...
