I may trust a doctor, but I trust them more when they actually examine you/perform evaluations/try to actually understand what you have instead of taking a look at you and deciding you have x or y. |

I agree, an "autistic" job is the job that suits each autistic person best. For example, I like translation, and also my biggest dream is to become a famous singer, which isn't at all what you would consider a typical job for an autistic person. And I don't see teacher as a job designed for autistic... |

it depends on what you mean by "easier socializing". I study in a different city from my own, but I live with my sister and I commute to college (there's no such thing as dorms in Colombia), so I'm not forced into, a, well, forced socializing environment. I could say I have a couple of people who ar... |

I wanna know whether learning another language helps you acquire social skills. Personally, I feel I've learnt a few things mostly in theory, but some of them in practice (although not much), but I wanna know whether it's the case for most people and if it depends on the method. |

So basically it's not that you're bad at languages, it's that the method of instruction isn't appropriate for you. What is the most difficult aspect of language learning for you? |

How about a thesis about educating children with Autism? What grade do you have to teach in? You may want to try some volunteering to get your groove and work more behind the scenes. Just an idea. I was a nervous wreck too, during my first week of in-class work experience. It's all part of learning... |

I think higher education - college, community college and/or trade schools are specially beneficial for aspie ... |

Thank you all!! !
I've probably been worrying about this too much. I guess it's the combination between gender, functioning level and individual differences. It's just that when I'm out there, it's more difficult for me to think of that, and it makes me pensive. |

I'm in college studying modern languages because I want to do a Master's degree in translation and become a translator eventually, but I have to do a thesis and a practicum as a teacher to get my degree, because technically it's an education major. I finished the assistantship, but now begins the pr... |

Here in Colombia there's no such thing as dorms and I live with my sister, so that part is taken care of nicely. Because of that, college is a way better time for me than high school, since a social life isn't forced upon you and there's not such a marked popularity system. People are there because ... |
