sliqua-jcooter, I disagree. Particularly as Alex is paying your wages. While I find that statement particularly amusing, it's also a valid point. Alex is paying us for a server. He is not, however, paying us, or me, to defend him. I get paid exactly the same amount regardless of the outcome of this... |

So he goes out, and lives his life, and then when he has a few minutes to spare he works on this site. How is that a problem? The problem is that he is the only one who can administer the site, as you have stated above, and he hasn't had the "few minutes to spare" that are needed in several months.... |

in order to be able to effectively admin this site, massive changes need to be made, and a lot of them are changes that the community as a whole would not accept. Thank you for clarifying. Do you contend then that "effective administration" of this site is impossible only in the near term, or is th... |

None of this changes the fact that what you are asking for is impossible. The people you are talking to have absolutely no ability to grant your request. If restoring your PM rights was as simple as dropping an email to Alex it would have been taken care of months ago when I sent the first of many e... |

^^ Actually you have both quite missed the point, and I know enough of each of you to assume that you have missed it because you want to, and because you are in the group who is being asked to moderate themselves. (Again I point out that they are being asked ) I know you are both too smart to not ac... |

After reading all six pages of this nonsense I have noticed that this thread is entitled "Can the popularity contest threads stop?". Has anyone actually answered the question? If it is indeed true that members are leaving because they feel marginalized then I don't think it will kill us not to make... |

I fully agree with DW_a_mom. I know how excluded and dismissed people feel in such instances and I commend katzefrau for speaking up, many don't as they know they'll be accused of "spoiling people's fun". I'm very sadden by the "join in or STFU" attitude - especially since some just get very defens... |

Vote zen_mistress for Prom Queen! Thank you! I have never been nominated for Prom Queen before :) . I nominate Emlion for Queen of Cupcakes. As was the case before, it even reaches into the one place on the forum that one uses to express displeasure about the situation. The Haven is serious ... |

So. I've received tenfold the info and concern here versus when I tried to bring it to the moderator's attention. You guys rock. For serious. There are no active American moderators at the moment, only European ones. You reported the problem while Europe was asleep. Similarly the site no longer has... |

If the good, supportive stuff in The Haven isn't publicly accessible then the claims made that this is a "support forum" start to appear made up. Most of the posts seen by Google would be PPR and General |
