Despite it may seem better for the planet, switching to fully organic food production would actually mean an increase in greenhouse gas emissions, according to a new study, which claimed that an organic production would require more land to produce the same amount of food.

Organic farming is less intensive and it needs more farmland to produce the same amount of food.
It is an important problem. Agriculture has an enormous environmental footprint since the Neolithic, only smaller population made it relatively sustainable.

Sustainable farming is probably the direction the humanity needs to research and follow.

It's a less efficient form of farming. It's bad for the environment in the same way that driving a less efficient car is bad for the environment.

Organic produce is the big block Chevy of food.
