Because most people know what the series is about, I won't bother describing it. OK, maybe this brief description from TVTropes:

Quote:
FBI physician Dr. Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) is assigned the task of keeping tabs on Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), a talented detective whose obsession with the paranormal is of grave concern to his superiors. Working out of the Hoover Building basement, Mulder specializes in the Bureau's "X-Files": a collection of cold cases deemed unsolvable due to macabre or taboo elements. While Mulder attributes these elements to the supernatural and extraterrestrial, Scully is a skeptic who attempts to debunk his theories through scientific reasoning. Together they investigate all manner of strange and unusual cases, which over time hint at a massive government conspiracy linked to a series of alien abductions going as far back as the forties.

What does everyone think of the series? I love it. There has been two series made (1993-2002, and a revival that started last year, but is on hiatus as of this message) and two movies "Fight For The Future" (1998) and "I Want to Believe" (2008).

Great programme, best when it goes off on a tangent, enjoyed the new ones!

I think it's great, though I hope they don't drag it on and on with the new ones. I enjoyed the new ones, but everything has to end at some point.

It was without a doubt one of the greatest TV series of all time, and one of my all time favorites.

There would've been no Breaking Bad without the X-Files. The creator of Breaking Bad said that writing for the X Files taught him everything. Or something like that.

That, and Bryan Cranston, who famously portrayed Walter White/Heisenberg, first became acquainted with the Breaking Bad creator on the X Files set when Cranston had played a paranoid redneck in one episode.

Well, if anyone would like to send me a PM telling me more about The X-Files, please do so. (Spoilers are welcome)

I watched the original series. I loved the first 3 or 4 seasons, but when they got too involved with their alien conspiracy, I lost interest. It was a great show when it was about all sorts of paranormal stuff with standalone episodes. About the last half of the series was a chore to watch, but I kept hoping they would return to form.

I've only seen a few of the new episodes. They seemed okay.
