He's a flaming lackwit, and you can tell him that I said so.

Quantum Inversion in a Doppler Matrix? Really?

I think not!

Maybe not AS but something that definitely hinders his social functionality to an excess. And he's really quite arrogant too. As for Leonard(as well as Raj and Howard), I don't think he has any social functioning issues, he understands and employs nuances, such as sarcasm, at the same capacity as any NT. He(Leonard), like all the other three, is just a little unique if not nerdy in his interests, both personally and professionally.

The creators of the show apparently want to keep things ambiguous, but Jim Parsons did use books on Asperger's to inform his performance.

It's probably more adequate to say that Sheldon has Sheldon Syndrome.

That was probably their response to an interview question at a time when they didn't actually know what autism is.

The show is about socially awkward nerds. That's it.

I've only seen a couple clips so I couldn't say, but that's just pessimism for pessimism's sake. How do you know they didn't? You shouldn't deny something just because you don't like it. At least Quartermass seemed to state it as a fact, so if they didn't all blame towards him! :P

Sheldon is absolutely an Aspie. He's in the process of learning how to socialize with others, as many of us are.

And here, folks, is Wrong Planet's 437,311th thread on whether or not Sheldon Cooper has Asperger's, and if you look to your left, you'll see the 23,548,943th thread on whether or not Asperger's should be cured.

And of course Sheldon is on the spectrum.
