The creator of the video in my OP says so many things that I'm thinking.

Digimon Adventure was not just a cartoon made to sell merchandise. No mere business man could have created Matt's internal conflicts or his bond with TK. No mere businessman could have created the episode where Izzy speaks seriously to his foster parents.

Digimon Adventure 02 had Ken ... and no other good characters. I refuse to believe that Yolei is is a replacement for Sora and Mimi. Neither Sora nor Mimi was that cranky.
