manchester by the sea - painful, but good. la la land - better than i thought it would be, though a hollywood ending might have been nice.

What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?

Two sisters, one, Jane, having peaked as a child star, and the other, Blanch, who had been a Hollywood star, are trapped together in a decaying mansion, years after a car accident in which Blanch was left crippled, and Jane had been accused of causing it. Insane from years of guilt, alcohol consumption, and rage over having been forgotten by a once adoring public, Jane torments her wheelchair bound sister, till she eventually commits murder. But the truth of the past is not what Jane believes.
Pretty decent movie. My wife and I were interested in seeing this film, as we've been watching Feud, which is the story of the animosity on the movie set between Joan Crawford, who had played Blanch, and Betty Davis, who had played Jane.

Excellent. Surprisingly accurate too, aside from a handful of details that drove me nuts.

As a history a buff, I nitpick over everything a movie gets wrong with a movie taking place in a period I'm familiar with.

I do the same thing.
Braveheart.

I just saw 3 movies I've never seen before:

Howard the Duck- I guess this was considered a cult classic by some? I laughed a few times.. but overall so boring. I sometimes like the cheesy old movies but this was just boring.

Jurassic World- I was worried this was just another cashgrab reboot before I saw it. After seeing it- my worry came true! The plot was decent for a tiny bit.. but then went to hell. It's like they had to recycle some old plot points because they couldn't think of new stuff. The special effects were decent and most of the acting was kinda bland. Movies like this are always kinda bad.. but keep having sequels because people flock to them at the theaters time after time. I consider this almost a "mindless action movie" because of the horrid plot. It's like they use the special effects to distract from horrible plot and acting.

Tomorrowland- This was a fun movie and the acting was decent. Plot felt somewhat original to me.

I saw both Logan and John Wick Chapter 2 over the weekend. Both were great.
