Lions for Lambs

I can't recall ever having seen such a predictable exercise in propaganda. I more or less agree with the ideas, but I never knew someone could direct a movie with fists of ham. Meryl Streep looked uncomfortable, but then she did have to sit in a room with Tom Cruise.

Nocturnal Animals.

The head of an art gallery, who is into her second marriage with a cheating bastard who she destroyed her first marriage for, is sent the manuscript written by her ex, who is an aspiring writer. She finds herself drawn into the disturbing book about a family traveling through Texas at night, who are driven off the road by dangerous rednecks. The husband is left out in wasteland of rural Texas, while his wife and daughter are kidnapped by the rednecks. When the wife and daughter are found raped and murdered, the husband receives help from a dying police detective, who enables him to have revenge. Finding her marriage disintegrating, she realized she had made a terrible mistake leaving her first husband.
Not for everyone, but I genuinely liked this movie.

Better than all three prequels combined, and got me to give half a crap about Star Wars again.

Also picked up a Blu-ray set with the other six, and one of these weeks when I'm feeling particularly insane, I'll do a marathon of them all.
