Oh that’s wit and I didn’t get it either! Good one and @ Goldilocks I wish I were like you and could use clothes and style as a coping mechanism. I don’t have the mind for it and also it’s not shallow at all. It’s a talent.

I'm well groomed. I've never grown a beard. That s**t looks terrible.

More like comfy. Jeans, casual shirt, hiking boots.

Always clean shaven, because I can't stand to have stubble.
Hair is crew cut, because that dries faster.

So, casual quirky but not scruffy I guess.

On my last stay in hospital, my discharge summary said that my hair was "poorly groomed". I've had it cut many times since so I think it looks ok now.

My uniform in the summer is 3/4 length pants and a t-shirt, nice and loose because I'm fat.

In the winter it's pants, t-shirt and hoodie. I love hoodies to the extent that I have many of them.

If I wore my oldest clothes, I could definitely be called scruffy.

In the past I was told that I was talented at being scruffy. I usually wore cowboy boots, Levi’s a tee shirt and leather bomber jacket or denim jacket. My hair was long straight and greasy, with split ends. (I always liked long hair, the other details happened naturally). Now I cut my hair short, about 12mm because it is disappearing anyway and it is so easy and cheap to do it myself. So my hair is no longer scruffy, unless I’ve rushed it. I wear trousers and a jumper over a tee shirt. Now I’m told I don’t look scruffy exactly but I am not well-groomed either. I have never been into fashion, I dress how I like and to keep warm.

I do think I look scruffy but my husband always teases me for looking preppy. I guess I am lucky because the way I look I seem to get away with looking scuffy if that makes any sense. Like I have very long blond hair which I do nothing to but it kind of just looks like it meant to be like that. Blond with natural sun bleached bits and slightly tangled. Beach hair I guess.

I also see clothes pretty much in terms of uniform.

In the winter I wear jeans and t-shirts and boots and a huge coat.

In the autumn and spring I wear the same jeans rolled up and t-shirts and sandals.

In the summer I wear dresses and sandals or go barefoot (on the beach or in my garden).

I fear I might have to go that route sooner or later...unless my mirror is deceiving me. Maybe it's just the angle of the lighting, making my hair look thinner in front than it really is... :|

Then again, some people can do the "bald guy with long hair" look and make it work.
