I sometimes forget that I have a blog.

just got done with my first ever blog post, trying to explain my Aspergers to an outsider or someone like me who's looking for information about Aspergers, but isn't quite sure. i'm not much of a writer, so i don't really know how that came out. i just pretty much puked out as much stuff from my brain as the keyboard would let me, and went with what i wrote.

I haven't written a blog yet.

I am 52 and lived all my life at home because of an undiagnosed problem that is probably Autism, or Asperger's and perhaps even a little Schizophrenia. There are others in my family like me, and an uncle was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. My father was a violent alcoholic, abusive in every way, and probably pschotic. My mother was slow, detached, very self-absorbed, never had much to say, but when she did she could be very argumentative, had many prejudices, and was easily aggravated by children. She loved babies, though; she played with them like toys. I was mostly ignored as a child.

Thinking back, I know that the rest of the family was aware there was trouble in our family and that I had something wrong with me, but only one brother and his wife took a positive interest; they tried to set good examples for me to follow; the rest just criticized, even though there was abuse in their families too. I started out ahead of other children, but in third grade fell back; that's when the abuse at home became worse. Still I had many talents. But because of my father's constant bragging, I was hated. At home I got nothing but criticism from him along with the abuse.

School was a nightmare; I was in a constant state of panic. I quit as soon as I was allowed, near sixteen, and studied at home. I worried most of my life about even having a future. But I did manage to teach myself about computers and since 2003 have been supporting myself with a business on the internet.

I don't know whether it would be worth the trouble (and stress) to see about getting a diagnosis. I haven't any insurance anyway. I am fairly certain I am autistic, or something closely related to that, for I seem to have all the symptoms.

I'm so glad I found this forum. I love the wide variety of threads on every imaginable topic of interest to people such as myself. Thank you so much.

Hi, I'm new to this site, just wondering what to do??? I live in Ireland (Belfast) and am 25 years of age with aspergers and not too many friends or social outlets (but I am a very sociable person). Find it hard to make and keep friends - and girl friends!! !!

Hello, I am new to this site and was diagnosed last week with AS. Whew! FINALLY something that truly resonates with me at almost 60 years of age! I don't know how long the warm fuzzy will last ... but I am going to remain optimistic that AS is truly the answer to "why is life so hard for me?" ... of course, there could be comorbids ... and .... NOPE! Whoa ...

My real name is Duncan. My favorite color is green, i'm in college, and I ride a bycycle when I should have a car by now. I am an aspiring cartoonist who has been creating home made comic books since he was in 2nd grade. I am taking tai chi class and Judo class, and fencing class. I am taking speech therapy classes at my school to learn to socialize. Once i'm comfortable in social situations, i am aiming to learn how to act.

I have a PS3 and a Wii and my favorite video game is Little Big Planet. My 2nd favorite video game would be the Uncharted Series. I also like mario games, the Sly cooper series, the Rayman series, Mrs. Pacman, Mortal Kombat, and a lot of other video games.

I like Alfred Hitchcock movies, 007 movies, and I like Jack Nicholson as one of my fav actors.

My favorite TV Shows are I love Lucy, the Simpsons, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and The Walking Dead

My favorite comic books are Matt Groening's Life in Hell, the Bone Series, Batman, The Walking Dead. I am currently reading the Joker Sequel comic book to the Dark Knight Movie
