Welcome.

Have you been diagnosed with ASD or something similar? Or do you suspect you have it?

Hello. I am from a place called Wales, but I have been into England on rare occasions. Are you on the spectrum? Or looking to find out more? Either way, welcome to Wrong Planet.

(I am on model railway sites as wdll and have had to quickly ammend what I wrote when new msmbers on those sites joined and I went to write "Welcome to Wrong Planet". I don't think it would have gone down too well on another site. :D
But welcome anyway!)

Thank you, yes, I am on spectrum… I have only been to Wales once, when I was very young, to Rhyl

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it interesting.

And, congratulations on the diagnosis! I was 64 when I learned I was Autism Spectrum Disorder, Level 1 (Mild).
I was delighted! I had finally found out what was wrong with everyone.

yes, thank you… I am coming up to 57… though it took a couple of years waiting for the assessment. It answers a lot of questions for me. Don’t know anything about levels

These articles might help: Article One and Article Two.

I think the official definitions could be improved, however.

I am officially "Level 1" and therefore, by definition, I "require" support. The areas they identify are:
1. Trouble understanding and following social rules¦
2. Rigid or inflexible behavior
3. Some stress during transitions
4. May benefit from therapy or life skills coaching
I'm not crazy saying I "require" support in those areas.¦ #1–3 are other ways of saying I don't react like an NT and, because there are more of them, I must be wrong. And I would think #4 would apply to everyone.

I think I've done reasonably well in life and I'm not looking for support, just courtesy and toleration.

I have not been there yet but my parents have before I was born. I have once passed through there on the dual carriageway I think
