It seems like this site keeps having more and more problems. A lot of people went to other forums. The design of this site appears to not have changed much since it was launched.

The simplicity and "old school" design is appreciated by many members.
WP is not going away.

You signed up 6 days ago. It seems to me the site had the same problems then.

That's good to hear. Is there any plans to adress these "error"-problems or are they here to stay?

I wish there was something I could do to address the problems but only Alex, as the site owner/developer, has the required access.

He has been informed and has responded but as yet, there's no fix.

I haven't noticed anyone go away since the error codes started.
I think it's fun being in our secret society lol

Has he at least given you any progress reports, or any prognosis?

Oh damn!

Sorry, I hadn't seen that.

I'll miss him too!

I know, but I've viewed this site as a guest for around 10 years. It seems there were more users on it then.

^ Yeah, but there are lots of other forums and social media available now and members do sometimes move on from needing to post here - there's nothing about a WP membership which suggests it should be eternal.

WP and traditional forums in general, are particularly good places to be for people who don't want to use social media in their place as many other people have done since social media has popularized 'group' functions and the like which often function similarly to forums.

There are many reasons for not wanting to be on social media, including but not limited to:

- Being stalked or receiving unwanted surveillance from various individuals

- Trauma related memories sometimes being present on social media which can be difficult to avoid if one is in certain social circles/have friends who are related to people they don't want to know anymore

- Social media having negative psychological effects on some people who become depressed when compelled to witness or monitor other people's curated lives

- The triggering of FOMO which can be related to the above point....

and probably, many other reasons.

Yes, except that people can still be stalked or receive unwanted surveillance on a forum.
Actually all of those concerns can apply on a forum just as much as social media.

The only difference is that forums can be anonymous.
It doesn't make the victimization any less threatening when it's happening.

Good thing CF is very much on top of things like that.

^ I agree that WP forums are generally safer than social media.

Does anyone know if Alex is still O.K. Has anyone communicated with him recently?
