Hi! One of my specialist interests is cameras, so I'd love to work part time in a camera retail store like Jessops...

Could I get part time work there when I turn 16, or would I need to have any qualifications etc?

You need a social security card. That's it.

Correction: Social Security card and a pulse.

Seriously though, provided you know your stuff about cameras and can share that information in a meaningful way, while convincing the customer to buy something, then you should have no problem working there.

Getting a job is of course a numbers game.

Now, if you get an interview with Jessops, if you're more enthusiastic about the company than the person doing the interviewing, you see how that might be a little off-putting? Instead, you probably want to steer a medium course and then lightly phase it up or down.

Only if you plan on paying income tax.
