I work as a special needs teacher in an MLD school (started work in September). I've recently told people at work about my Aspergers, and people have generally been okay about it.
My head has told me to work on social stuff, so I'm trying really hard to fit in with my colleagues, although it doesn't come naturally to me.
There are a couple of people at work who have been lovely, but since I know that Aspergers makes me awkward and hard to like, I feel like the fact that they are putting the effort in to be nice to me that I need to do something to make it up to them. I'm scared that people will 'go off' me, and since I need those few people to feel good at work, that would be terrible.
I feel like everyone else is 'better' than me, that I'm 'less' than everyone else, and can't understand why people are putting up with me.
