I would really like to play a game that gives me a big world to explore. Something where I can interact freely, and find cool details and just wander around a big world. Does anyone know any of these

Some games along these lines I have enjoyed:
Super Metroid
Aquaria
Mount and Blade
Star Control II
Daggerfall
Fallout 3
Noctis

There have been other games of this type that I have played, but these are the ones that stick out in my mind that I most enjoyed.

Ever played Shadow of the Colossus? That has a huge world to wander around.

You should try Elder Scrolls: Morrowind or (even better IMHO) Oblivion. They are AWESOME!

I like those to because I don't have to say to missions that are in the Game.

Free roaming games are fun, it is pretty cool to go out and find things.

Oblivion and Fallout 3 have probably been two of the best I have played with go out and exploring things, you often don't know what you will find, like a church full of necromancers or a ruin full of vampires.

My love probably goes back all the way to Legend Zelda: Majora's Mask and Occarina of Time, probably largely nostalgia but their freedom was fun.

And in terms of freedome of movement I might praise what was started in Spider Man 2 and continued onto 3, and also Prototype was another good one as movement and combat was up to personal choice.

OMG, I can't believe I forgot to suggest Fallout 3! It is one of my most favorite games!

The suggestions for Oblivion and Morrowind might be erroneous here. The OP has stated they like Daggerfall, where the potential for free-roaming exploration and choice are much greater than the simplified newer games in the Elder Scrolls series.

Tried Fallout: New Vegas yet? It's very similar to FO3, but more open.

You could give the three Stalker games a try - while there's a linear plotline to them which is quite restrictive in some places, for most of the time you're free to wander round fairly large play areas (though we're talking Oblivion / Fallout style "square kilometres" rather than Daggerfall style "small countries") which all have interesting things tucked away. Call of Pripyat is the best (the latest, most polished and relatively stable version.)

And heck, you can chuck bolts into freaky anomalies, what's not to love?

Also I'd second New Vegas. If you're in the mood for something different Silent Storm (somewhat nonlinear plotline, odd random encounters) or Dwarf Fortress (ASCII graphics, generates entire worlds to explore and/or build in.)

And also LOTRO, which has a large world and is (I believe, haven't checked) free these days; but has most of the usual boring MMO timesink baggage.

Well, I haven't played Daggerfall, so I couldn't compare that with the newer ones in the series. I just know that Morrowind and Oblivion are very open compared with all the games I have played.

I owned Morrowind at one time, I never did progress very far in it. I did however get a decently high level and explore some. Near the start, you could acquire these scrolls that let you jump very far distances. I'd load up my file, use the scroll and go flying off in a random direction. I'd explore from the point that I landed until I was bored or died, and then sometimes loaded up again and jumped off in another direction instead.

I loved the GTA games for exploring. San Andreas is my favorite for exploring.


Unfortunately, I'm all explored out for games.

If you don't need great graphics and can get your hands on it (which may be tricky by now, the game is some ten years old), I would propose Wizardry 8. There's a story/main quest in that one, but most places can be explored without bothering with that. It's an RPG with some adventure elements and one of the best character creation/development system I have come across so far. The setting is a crossover between high fantasy and science fiction, but it was pretty balanced in my opinion.

The first Baldur's Gate game offer a lot of exploration.
