The original 1980 "Battlezone" arcade game had a version that was used by the U.S. Army as training for gunners.

Wing Commander 3 and 4 - not the first games to use full-motion video (FMV) but probably the first to do so on an epic scale! WC4, especially, using real sets instead of green-screen faked stuff. It also made the video in such a way that it told the story instead of video "just because it fits on the CD-ROM" sake.

It also featured big Hollywood stars in roles that didn't suck!

King's Quest 4 not only was one of the first to use MIDI music, it was also composed by a BIG NAME Hollywood composer, William Goldstein. This wasn't just music - it was a Hollywood-class soundtrack.
In addition, that was when Sierra also finally upgraded their graphics engine from (AGI) 160x200 to (SCI) 320x200 in 16 colours... the games looked MUCH better for those who could see it!

Tennis for Two - Arguably the first video game ever created. It was a very simple tennis game, developed in 1958 as an experimental game to entertain visitors to Brookhaven National Laboratory. It used one of the laboratory's supercomputers to accurately calculate trajectories, and the graphical display was an oscilloscope. :)

Adventure form Atari (1978) where you had to get the "dot" in the Black Castle to open up a gateway so you can see the author's (Warren Robinett) name. IIRC, it was generally the first "Easter Egg." Atari's Superman (1979) was fairly complex for it's time too.

Sonic's colour was based on SEGA's logo design, not the other way around.

Kirby was first created as a dummy character for testing.

Size doesn't matter with Mega Drive and SNES carts as they both carried near identical memory, the only differences were the SNES' ability to store specialised chips.

Soul Reaver was supposed to be 2/3rds BIGGER in terms of content!
