My dad's people back in the 19th century had come from a region of southwest Germany called the Kraichgau, which during the Napoleonic era had been divided between Baden and Wurttemberg, and is today northwestern Baden-Wurttemberg. The people there are still distinguished from their neighbors to the south who speak Swabian/Alemannic dialects, as the Kraichgauers still speak a south Franconian dialect. It's in memory of where my dad's side of the family had come from.

ah so :) a distinguished lineage, no doubt :wtg:

By all indication by collective memory in my family, they seem to have been mainly towns people back in Germany (with some ancestors involved in what constituted fraud and theft ), till leaving for the Black Sea region of Russia, then the American west, where they became farmers. They were common people, but people with balls, who weren't afraid to look for something better in frontier societies.

Mr. K., I don't think anyone would file a suit if they thought Cruz wasn't a citizen because of what happened with Mr. Aw and the Left totally beating down the Right. And I don't think the Left wants to open up the can of worms and bring more attention to Mr. Aw possibly not being a US Citizen. How can the Left say anything now anyway? You think they want to come to be know as "Birthers"? 8O Ghastly!

Oh, c'mon, you people damn well know that "President Obama" is an American citizen, born and bred.
And as for the charge that the left doesn't want to "open up the can of worms" about the President's birthplace - I say, bring it on! All that birther bullsh*t has been proven to be just a bunch of racist crap, with no bearing in reality.

Because that is the job of Admitting. I treat the physical ailments. That's why I'm asking the people who are supporters of Obamacare and if they don't have Obamacare themselves then they really don't have much say on the matter, in my opinion. I have had personal experience with Obamacare and I think it is an absolute farce just like who it's named after.

And I said, I have absolutely no qualms, as having what coverage that I do beats no coverage at all..

Yes, they are. But most people are not eligible for either.

For Medicare, you have to be at least 65 years of age.

For Medicaid, you have to be either really, really poor or on some sort of Government assistance. Or a dependent of the really, really poor person or the person on Government assistance.

The majority of people in America are not eligible for either.

I'm on both and I'm not 65 or older.

No, I don't know damn well. I have a movie about Mr. Aw's life that says he was born in Kenya.

That's just it - it's not helping people. I would like to hear from just ONE person who has been actually helped by Obamacare - just ONE.

You already said you are not in admitting,so how would you know.?Do you work in billing?
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014 ... .html?_r=0

Because I have not heard from one person that has Obamacare that it has helped them. Most of our patients that offer up their health insurance information to me have BCBS mainly or none at all.

Auntblabby, you say that you were able to go to the doctor for the first time in your life, but you are not coming out and saying what you are having to pay (deductible-wise). I had to try to find insurance other than Obamacare when I lost my job because my deductible for Obamacare just for me was $6,000 and for families it was $10,000 or higher. It's no secret what the plans are because there are only about 3 you can pick from depending on whether you are single or have a family. All the plans are right on the internet. What is YOUR deductible?

And most people (including my friend Julia) that I have talked to are going to pay the fine because it is the cheapest way out. Thing is, the fine is going to be raised so that isn't going to be a way to go either. The IRS will be keeping track who has Obamacare and if they don't then it will be taken directly out of their tax refunds.

Still not sure how you would know who it's benefited unless you were in billing.Do you poll the patients?Who is Julia and why would I care??

Quit going around in circles. I asked for specific information on Obamacare deductibles and so far no one has given me any. That is telling me the OBAMACARE SUCKS! and you people just don't want to come out and say how much it bites the big one because it would be going against your great King.

While I don't have their contact details, why don't you ask one of these 50,374 individuals?

... Silly me... While that's the number of 50,000 lives saved by Obamacare frequently cited in the media (notwithstanding the expected lives saved from increased insurance coverage estimated based on the effects of Romneycare in Massachusetts), it's clearly not valid... As it is now outdated... let's try again with the most recent data:

So... while I still don't have their contact details, why don't you ask one of these 86,669 individuals?

True: If somebody is on SSI/SSD, they would be on Medicare as well as Medicaid.

We have both the "long" and "short" form of Obama's birth certificate. He was born in the State of Hawaii, in a Honolulu hospital.

Most likely but Obama's whole birth certificate business was funny from the beginning, either something fishy was going on or Obama wanted his opponents to think that because he thought the 'birther' attacks benefited him.

It seems so odd now considering we have Ted Cruz's birth certificate and know he was born in Canada, if that's not a big deal then why did we ever care about Obama? The fact is that this is something that has never been truly defined and really needs to be.

You are the one endlessly chasing your tail in circles. You obviously never read imbedded links.Where is your proof it doesn't work??Even if there are flaws in the plan it's better than having no insurance at all. It's helped a relative of mine who is pregnant, otherwise she wouldn't have the funds for prenatal care. But I doubt you believe that.
I find it strange that a supposed health care professional would be against people having affordable insurance.

I did not anticipate that there would be so much debate over health care reforms. Would it not be plausible to assume that competition based health insurance that is driven by the market economy is what keeps prices for insurance down in the most effective manner?

I think it would be better to regulate prices of medical products and services over a certain dollar amount. Having done that, I'd regulate the cost of health insurance. This way employers and most individuals could easily afford coverage. Services provided to the poor would cost the taxpayer less and could be more generous.

There is no mother-effing reason for healthcare to cost what it does other than greed and that IS the problem.
