Jesus died for the entire human race, past-present-future. Not just for the people alive in his time or in that part of the world.

Using Patton's conception in the case of Christ, just exactly who was demanding Christ's death to repair mankind's sinfulness and why was it necessary for that forgiveness. Of course, the Romans did the deed but obviously it was arranged by someone higher up. Who was that?
