This guy claims to have created a device that stops the aging process. They sell them here.

You should totally buy it.

Imagine the amount of money in bank interests you could get if you lived forever. This thing will pay for itself.

I'm not sure, I'd buy one but it's a little dear

Surely you cannot believe such a claim.

It is ridiculous not to.

You see, if you don't believe, then you won't buy one and thus can't live forever. But, if you do believe, at worst you just lose some money, and at best, you live a *LOT* longer. Given that the amount of money that you can earn with each year of living is extremely large compared to the cost of the device, and that you will have an extremely high number of years, even if this device has a low probability of working, buying it is the only rational decision.

My mind just flashed back to that Deep Space Nine episode where that scientist was working on a machine to prevent cells from getting bored to death.

On a serious note, I remember seeing articles on using energy waves for healing, and if there is any truth to that, I'd not be surprised if someday (if not somewhere already) there are life extension machines that work by stimulating cells into regeneration via energy waves.

We essentially die because as we age, the capacity to regenerate slows so that we are eventually decaying faster than we can repair ourselves. Find a way to stop that and you won't die from parts wearing out.

Right, because only something as vague as "energy waves" could be scientific.

Well, a lot of tech we have today would seem like magic a century ago.

I don't doubt we'll find some of the most effective solutions to problems were rooted in some of the simplest concepts of science....hence why we overlooked them.

A very naive viewpoint. Successful physics is as complicated as the phenomena on which it is based. It is as complicated as it needs to be to explain the facts it deals with.

The idea of ueber simplification is a notion bandied about by the crackpots who still believe in aether and the flat earth.

Wow, the web site looks professional, I'll totally buy into it. I mean, those pictures of those three genius guys? They totally took it and they're all still alive, right?
No, but really, this stinks of the same garbage that made people and still makes people buy into Q-Ray bracelets. Its always some Asian guy who claims to know about energy fields and classical 'Asian wisdom' in regards to aging. Frankly, none of this is real. If you want to stop aging, figure out a way to prevent a lifetime of radiation and environmental induced genetic mutation, maybe by building tiny nano-robots that actively repair and rebuild DNA and RNA strands, and something that maintains brain plasticity, because living forever would suck if you go senile and spend thousands of years in a home watching Matlock

Magnets, they're just magnets people. They have a negligible effect on the human body at most.

The real criticism is vagueness. There are a lot of "energy waves" out there that one can refer to.
